Wonderful temple to stroll through. There are snakes that are cared for by the priests but they are not seen unless there is a religious event such as Shivratri taking place. The property is large and has footpath trails to the temple buildings and the grounds are well kept.

Very friendly and welcoming temple - we were even invited to look inside the area usually restricted to Hindus only. Males need to remove shirts to enter this area.
Lucky enough to see the temples elephant having a wash!
Witnessing the devotion of Indian Hindus is very humbling.

The temple itself is nice with intricate statues and well designed interior, the place has good vibes to it. However, the custom and tradition of entrance is quite strange. Despite being a born Hindu I was not allowed to go it, because I was wearing a full sleeves T shirt with a full pant. However, my female partner who is a foriegner and was wearing a sleeveless Tshirt was allowed to go it. The irony was the person who stopped me was a temple staff/junior priest wearing a very short lungi and completely naked on top.

Quite a spectacle. A long process to watch the intricate makeup in traditional style, which added to the nature of the dance. The facial expressions of the 'woman' were extraordinary. It wasn't necessary to have a spoken 'script', the story clearly unfolded by the actions of the participants....love, rejection, anger. Great performance at Fort Kochi

This lighthouse was lovely, and for a small sum of money we walked right to the top to see the fantastic views over the sea and also over the town of Alappuzha. It is near to lovely sandy Beaches, and a great walk along a very long harbour wall where we watched all the small fishing boats going out to sea.

Nothing very special. Mostly collections of a rich German lady married to an Indian. The entry fee of Rs 150 is very high for this. May be they want to restrict entry to select people. Old Travancore paddy cultivation items and storage cabin is also in display. Photographs no allowed.
