What to do and see in Abuja, Abuja State: The Best Things to do Good for Big Groups

February 5, 2022 Christa Meece

Strategically located at the crossroads of Nigeria's ethnic and religious groups, Abuja is home to the country's Presidential Branch, National Assembly and Supreme Court. The impressive Aso Rock rises majestically over the city's central government district. The diverse architecture of the city is reflected in notable sites like the National Mosque, the National Christian Centre and the National Stadium. Daily markets throughout the city offer everything from pottery to local fruits and breads.

Although I am a Christian and not an expert in architecture, I have a deep appreciation for Islamic architecture. This is one of the most beautiful building in Abuja and one most of my friends and family who come to visit appreciate seeing. While not as impressive as some of the Mosques I have seen in the Middle East, it is still an impressive site in the Abuja cityscape. It’s hard to miss when driving through the city centre and stands out amongst the otherwise sterile government office buildings in the city centre.

When I am in Abuja, I frequently visit Jabi Lake Mall. I love sitting, under cover, in one of the restaurants by the lake. If it gets too hot, I slip into the mall and have an ice cream or a frozen yogurt.
