What to do and see in Aarhus, Jutland: The Best Things to do Good for a Rainy Day

September 5, 2021 Velvet Champine

Jutland's cultural heart, Århus is an exuberant university town with a perfectly preserved old town and a recreated historic village, Den Gamle By. The top draw is the Moesgard Museum of Prehistory, showcasing exhibits from the Stone Age to Viking days and home to the city's most famous citizen, the 2000-year-old Grauballe Man. It's a lively spot, teeming with cafes, restaurants, clubs and cinemas. Denmark's second-largest city perches on Jutland's eastern coast amid beaches and woodland.

Escapist Aarhus

Welcome to Escapist! We make handcrafted and well-designed escape rooms - live game experiences, where you and your team must work together to solve a mission within a closed room in less than 60 minutes. In our first room, "The Great Diamond Heist", you and your team are a gang of experienced art thieves, who are about to commit your next big heist. Can you make your way through the crafty curator's office, solve his tricky riddles and puzzles, and escape with the exceptionally valuable diamond before time runs out and the police arrives? In our second room, "USS Triton", you take on the role of American marines, stationed aboard the nuclear submarine USS Triton during the Cold War. Paranoia has gripped your captain, and the madman has set four missiles to launch at Moscow! Can you solve the codes inside the control room and disarm the missiles in time, or will it all end in another world war?

BrainEscape

BrainEscape room Århus holds a host of puzzles, chained together in a narrative. A mystery game and a story all at once – with you in the lead roles. This is not a classic escape room, and you will not search for stored keys or figure out numbers for combination locks. The key to success is not just logical thinking. It is also largely a matter of understanding the person whose brain you are exploring.

Aros Aarhus Kunstmuseum

Welcome to ARoS Aarhus Art Museum - one of Europe's largest art museums situated in the heart of Aarhus, and the only one with a rainbow on top, Your rainbow panorama. ARoS is a house of art where our guests can be pleased, enlightened and challenged. The architecture is of international class. The same is the art. And both offer experiences of high carat: from light to thrill, from attitude to entertainment, from joy to challenge.

First time visit to AROS. Very surprised by the Popularity of this new classic Aarhus attraction. - but well deserved. The museum is big, but stretching over 10 levels there is plenty to experience. There is all kinds of art with focus on modern art - and with many different artists- and different styles we were all (including the kids) entertained, thrilled and dazzled for 4 hours. Must see’s; the installation art on the 1+2 level, FAR FOR HOME - including the famous ‘BOY’ and the extraordinary sign mark of AROS - Olafur Eliasson round rooftop circle walk. So in short - AROS is a unique experience and a ‘Must-see’ in Aarhus - also for those only moderately art interested.
