What to do and see in 4th Arr. - Hôtel-de-Ville, Ile-de-France: The Best Nightlife

February 17, 2022 Matilde Konrad

Lingering over pain au chocolat in a sidewalk café, relaxing after a day of strolling along the Seine and marveling at icons like the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe… the perfect Paris experience combines leisure and liveliness with enough time to savor both an exquisite meal and exhibits at the Louvre. Awaken your spirit at Notre Dame, bargain hunt at the Marché aux Puces de Montreuil or for goodies at the Marché Biologique Raspail, then cap it all off with a risqué show at the Moulin Rouge.

L'Etiquette

L'Etiquette carry 100% state bottled wines. We do organic and natural wines from VERY small winemakers. Wine tasting (or as we say, an "experience") every day according to our schedule. No wine snob vocabulary, we do keep everythind very simple.

If you’re looking for an unforgettable experience with great people, amazing wine and amazing conversations then stop by L'Etiquette. Whenever we are in Paris we make it a priority to stop by L'Etiquette and enjoy a bottle or two with the owner, Herve. The shop has a wide selection of French natural wine and the owner is a wonderful guide through the world of natural wine. On our last visit we enjoyed many bottles of wine and wonderful conversation with the owner and his lovely wife that lasted many hours. It’s easy to lose yourself in such an amazing place and I hope that others will come to appreciate this Parisian institution. Do yourself a favor and stop by L'Etiquette for a great bottle of wine and so much more!

38 Riv

The 38 RIV - Jazz Club is a very intimist Jazz venue in a vaulted 13th century cellar (with stonework giving it a medieval feel) on the right bank of the Seine River in Paris, France. The club hosts Jazz, Brazilian and ancient music (Baroque) concerts as well as jam sessions (Jazz & Funk) and has closed door amateur jazz jam sessions for developing young players. It is located a few blocks from Notre Dame Cathedral in central Paris. It offers a broad range of jazz styles: Swing, Bebop, Hardbop, modern, bossa nova and more

What a great experience! Fabulous night of live music in an amazing medieval cellar. Music was to a very high standard in such a cool setting. Loved it and will definitely go back when we visit Paris again.

Lot of Wine

A friend who lived in Paris said this was her favorite wine bar in Paris... Well, it is ours too!! Located on the river, this cozy gem (honestly, only a couple tables) serves fantastic wines paired with equally great charcuterie. The expert who helped us chose great wines at our requested price point. We witnessed many locals taking his suggestions as well... Nothing touristy about this spot. Authentically Parisien and fabulous.

Open cafe

Open s an institution in the Marais where the gay community congregates at night before heading off in all directions. Centrally-located among all other hotspots, it's a no-brainer to start a soirée, or to finish if the scene is good. Young and old, sporty and chic, local and foreign all collide for a happy hour (6-10pm) on pints followed by specials on Champagne until closing that provide the perfect social lubrication for the rest of the evening. A welcoming atmosphere makes this a good meeting point for friends or for a solo drink if you're looking to make new acquaintances. Grab a table on the sidewalk for some casual cruising and people-watching - and don't be afraid to have a coffee or light lunch during the day when Open embraces the 'café' aspect of its name.

Bear's Den

Reviewed By Bobinku - Buffalo, United States

We had received a recommendation to come her from a patron of Spuijkers in Amsterdam and he described the fun we'd have to a T. Loved this place. Great ambiance, super helpful and friendly bartenders (especially Paul - I hope I have his name right) and very friendly patrons. Even walking there from our vacation rental in Le Marais was fun - so many people enjoying the warm evening in the beautiful neighborhood. We talked to people from about six or seven different countries (sometimes in their own language! Bears are bears worldwide it seems!) and really enjoyed the patio and the standing area across the street. The bar is small, but we were allowed in after closing hours. Highly recommended for the bear crowd, those looking for a friendly change of scene, people looking for good beer and those looking to meet some cool new people from all over. Wish I was there this weekend!!
