Cafe Puerto

Spanish Restaurant and Tapas Bar

Reviewed By JoelZ195 - Chico, California

You wont get any more convenient than this for food, drink, bathrooms, and respite as you come and go to the stilted village. This establishment sits 100m from boat departure and 25 metres off the road. Clean, comfortable, plenty of Seating and an inspired Spanish tapas, caribbean, and Ghana fusion menu. Cuban rice with egg and spicy tomato sauce; flash fried small shrimp in garlic and butter, as well as burgers, rice, chicken, chips/fries, and icy water and ful bar. Service is slightly haphazard, but the wait is worth it, and staff and proprietor are helpful and ever so friendly. Very fair pricing for location and ambiance. Recommendation: snack here before departure, and check to seeif they are open about 3 hours later on your return from Nzulezo--a great splurge dinner before heading back to your resort. Great for families, but couples will love it too.

Captain Hook's

Having heard the rave reviews about the sea food and lobster we took a drive out to Tokaradi. Upon arrival we were told that the wedding party the day before had finished all the lobster and this had not been replaced. Not a nice feeling considering we had driven the 100kms to try it out. The wine list and drinks menu however was varied and comprehensive and the service was wonderful. Definitely try if you're in the area otherwise not as amazing as some people make it out to be.

Walked in and was greeted with a very warm welcome from staff. OOPS!! The restaurant smelt like a butchery, very nauseating bloody meaty smell.Cockroaches taking sweet steps all over the restaurant floor. Food was in good portion and the supervisor on duty was very attentive to our concerns. Unlike most places, the staff were EXCELLENT, the facility proper...nothing to write home.
would I be going here again? no!

In the STC bus terminal, Oldest Indian Rest. in Ghana

Reviewed By Sylvestre A - Accra, Ghana

The restaurant is nice and normal, nothing so special. The menu is not so special but you get at least all the normal continental foods that you might wish when on a trip and along with all the drink available locally. The location is not so great since it is in a Bus Terminal that is only crowded at specific time in the day when passengers come to board a bus or are on transit, but It's really well design and shows the Indian origin vey well. I always do a stop over there when I am on transit to Accra and when my stomach allows it.

definitely best food Ive ever eaten in Ghana. Natural food with vegetables from own garden, fresh fish, made and served with lot of care. Good portions, and diversified. Every day we stayed we were looking forward for the "surprise" lunch and dinner.

Coffee Corner

Welcome to Coffee Corner Takoradi! We are the first to bring high quality italian-style brewed coffee to Ghana. Visit our shop for your favourite sandwiches, pastries, coffee, milkshakes and tea. Coffee Corner aims to be an inviting place for people to hang out in a calm and relaxing atmosphere. The music, the interior and the overal lay-out are aimed to realise this. Even though the lunch hour rush tends to get the place busy and thus a little loud, customers enjoy Coffee Corner to the fullest. It is the perfect place to meet with friends, have a business meeting, a quick lunch or coffee and even a business breakfast. The free and fast WiFi is helpful as well. Besides offering a good hide-out, ultimately it is all about the food and the drinks that we offer. We take great care in carefully selecting high quality products and never settle for less. To meet that goal, we work closely together with our suppliers, both in Europe and Ghana.

I still love this place however on a particular day, my colleagues and I planned to go for dinner. I went to make the reservation when one of the servers asked the weirdest question "are your colleagues white.. so we know whether to organize security for them?" the level of ignorance was really disappointing! I feel all customers should be treated equal.. white or black... blue or purple!

Have been to the restaurant over the years and have always looked forward to the same whenever in Takoradi!
It is a great restaurant in the town offering good choices in food and drinks. The service is good and the experience pleasant most times.
I particularly look forward to an Indian dish the restaurant offers in the form of Vindaloo, they make it quite nice.
Is a good place to head to for food when in Takoradi.

Will recommend cafe De Paris mostly to the expatriate who are here to work and to people with good taste. Kudos to the workers for making the place very conducive for us( customers)
