Just arrived home after a 2 week stay in Paarl. Visited Geckos on several occasions. Gecko breakfast is of a good size and well presented. Had breakfast there most mornings. On 3 occasions we went out for an evening meal. For starters I had blue cheese snails followed by peppered fillet steak. Just couldnât stop eating it until my plate was empty. The service is excellent with a good choice. Probably one of the cheaper places to eat in Paarl but the food and service I couldnât have wished for better. If youâre in the area pay this place a visit. Highly recommended. The restaurant has quite a lot of Jak Daniels memorabilia.

Service was excellent. Fast and efficient service from the manager to the waiter. Nice relaxing atmosphere. Staff were friendly and accommodating. My husband ordered the calamari and rib combo, absolutely excellent. I ordered a filet, medium rare, Spot on! We were a large party, consisting of three families. The waiter was very impressive with regard to his people skills, sense of humor and knowledge about the menu. Service was very efficient. The food was delicious and well presented. They moved tables around to seat us just the way we wanted (some in the cool breeze, grandpa away from the wind, children at their own table close to the sliding door, all around a single grouping, etc). We really enjoyed our whole extended lunch experience. Weâll definitely be back. Well done.

A great value restaurant with a very friendly reception. We arrived late on New Year's day but were warmly welcomed. The service was very good and the menu was simple but extensive, and the food was very tasty. Great service & athmosphere, which is nowadays a rarity. The food is out of this world. Most succulent steaks and the kids did enjoy the pizza. We will definitely revisit The Coffee Republic.

I went to Gecko Lounge well past 14:00 and ordered a 300g sirloin steak with veggies. I ordered a cold deink first and it took forever for the waiter to bring the drink. After I got the drink I placed my order immediately and again the food was very slow to get to the table. A meduim rare steak does not take that long... The steak was completely underdone and I had to go and call the sushi chef to get some attention. The steak was taken back after a while. The shifts changed, the waiter left, I was not told, never asked how the meal was or if I wanted another drink. In general it was not a great experience, but the steak was good quality meat and the pumpkin was very good. The service need improvement.

We sat outside and had the most spectacular view, very peaceful, lovely atmosphere. The waitress was exceptional,And the food was delicious. The perfect place for a leisurely lunch.
