Tucked away in a shopping centre we would not have found this restaurant without TripAdvisor! Conveniently situated within walking distance of our hotel in Sea Point. It's a very large restaurant and when we arrived there were just a few tables occupied but by the time we left the place was abuzz with diners. We had steaks but noticed quite a few diners opted for prawns of fish. Clearly they have a good reputation and their popularity is evident.

The name says it all!!! Very good meat and an overall terrific dining experience. Our waiter was terrific and amply handled our very demanding party of 8!. The wine list was first rate and the desserts were delicious. Over experience was terrific. We are glad that our first day in Cape Town was capped off by dining at Carne.

This used to be much more of a steak house but is under new chef/wife ownership and now serving excellent food.Our courses included catch of the day,calamari and filet of beef and all were excellently presented and cooked as was the crime brûlée dessert.Service was good and there was a very family atmosphere.This place deserves to thrive and we will return soon.
