Kontoret Restaurant & Bar has a perfect location close to the harbor (Badhusgatan 3). A great place to eat lunch after shopping or looking at the boats in the harbor.Kontoret does the Swedish tradition of serving warm lunches midday. The menu that change every day gives you the choice of meat or fish dishes. A soup is included, as are bread and lots of salads. And of course coffee afterwards, you are in Scandinavia! The food are traditional Swedish dishes, tasty and plenty. It varies of course; Iâve had excellent meals, and not so excellent. But itâs always quality food. All this you get for just over SEK 100, itâs a bargain. If you are a sports fan, kontoret has plenty of TV screens showing todays sports events. No sound though, so you can eat your food in peace.Itâs a great place I often visit when in Strömstad, and I can absolutely recommend it.

This place is located smack-bang in the middle of Strömstad harbour, and that's why people go there, I guess (or lack of options). There are a bunch of grimy picnic/bench tables in rows, sullen staff in t-shirts, laminated menus with greasy spoon fare served from the freezer via the deep-fryer. Despite this, prices are quite high for what you get. Avoid. In fact, avoid all of Strömstad and head for one of the many much more beautiful coastal spots like Smögen, Fiskebäckskil, Grundsund, Mollösund, Skärhamn, Kyrkesund, Marstrand, etc etc.

This place serves nice and tasty food at a very affordable price. After eating here several times we have experienced that the quality of the food is consistent and they make it the way you want; milde, medium, spicy. Soup and salad is included in the price.Highly recommend!

This restaurant right on the quai in Strømstad doesn't look up to much from the outside, but inside there is an open fire on cold days, the staff are friendly and helpful and the fish is really fresh and well prepared. This time I had a prawn open sandwich for lunch and that was absolutely huge! The menu changes according to season. However be aware that the restaurant closes for several months during the winter. It's a good idea to phone to check if it's open - don't rely on the website.

We ate here yesterday at lunchtime. The pizzas were thin, crispy and tasty and very reasonably priced. The pesto and rocket salad that should have accompanied them never arrived though(despite it saying so on the menu).The pasta with parma ham was good, not great. The aubergine and mozarella bake was very disappointing for 100kr; it was tiny in size and had only a few cubes of aubergine in it. The sauce was tasty, a bit salty for my liking, but that's just personal taste. For the amount of sauce, there should have been bread to soak it up. The restaurant has a mix of decor, one part has American diner type furniture and the other part at the front near the street has more traditional furniture. There is a nice, good-sized outside area for smokers or those wanting to eat outside on a nice day.

Fantastic seafood, great atmosphere, excellent service, exciting beer menu...what else can you ask for! This little restaurant is a must when visiting Strømstad. Moulle frittes, fish and chips, and an enormous shrimp sandwich was ordered. Simple and straightforward presentation, great taste...simply a fantastic meal! Thanks! We will be back:-)

We visited Stromstad as part of our first trip in Sweden as it was suggested by a friend and after the day we stopped here for dinner. The food was great we had locally sourced cod which was served with a delicious sauce and veggies plus a starter salmon based on open sandwich which was great too.Service was top notch, the Italian guy who served us was very genuinely friendly and knowledgeable about the food offering and preparation which added to the experience.Should we ever be in the area in future trips we would return for sure.

We went on a date night here on our holiday for food and a movie as there is a connected movie theatre in this restaurant.We both ordered steak, I did prime beef order and girlfriend had entrecote. Girlfriends entrecote was under cooked a bit and waitress took it back to kitchen straight away and few minutes later they had re-done her whole order cooked perfect.That's a sign of quality in my mind. Resturant take their clients serious.Meal was tasty and the cinema part was also nice.
