Terribly loud music upon entering. Sheila,our server, obliged to lower the music. Came back music still not lowered and she figured out how to work the stereo it was lowered. We parked out back ugly plywood rear exterior enclosure of apparently the kitchen area? Unsightly. Started with some below-average miso soup not particularly flavorful or rich and no tofu. Unfortunately, my order of the teriyaki came five minutes before my companions so that was a strike against the kitchen.. Teriyaki was OK properly cooked on the grill was slight on flavor the sauce was good the rice was fine. She liked her four pieces of sushi very much. Himachi good. To ikon meh. We had to send back my eel roll as it was poorly constructed and falling apart, and awfully presented. . I needed to use a fork to eat the two pieces I tried as the chopsticks collapsed it and it fell apart. The teriyaki had a side salad with a very pleasant homemade ginger dressing. We both ordered their jasmine tea it was not particularly aromatic or flavorful but passable. Ordered the three amigos sushi roll to replace the eel roll which we were not charged for but were up charged for the difference in price.That was very good! My only complaint about Sheila was that she made a classic server mistake by asking if we wanted change back ,I don't feel that is something a server should ask !The change should just be brought. The dining room was pleasant w/ a rather large water fountain feature inside which was nice to listen to as it help drowned out Celine Dion on the music machine. Plastic bowls and plates and teacups. Meh!We paid $38 w/ tip. Likely won't return.

We really like the Tempura. The combos are nice, we usually do the take out, it is usually fast service

My wife and I have been here several times over the last eight months since moving into the Shelton area. She has the teriyaki chicken usually and claims to be very good. She has also tried their teriyaki beef and likes that as well. I usually have their hot-spicy chicken teriyaki. It compares with a place near our old house in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle. I think it's fabulous. Miako is very clean including their restroom. They have free refills on their soft drinks, which a lot of places do now. It's certainly much better quality food than the nearby Happy Teriyaki, which we stopped going to, since discovering this place. The owner after one of our meals sat and chatted with us for a while.
