Lussmanns is Hertford's busiest independent restaurant. Since opening in 2004, they have really come to understand our locals and what they want from their restaurant. Centrally located in the historic 'Egyptian House' (for Da Vinci Code fans, this was rumoured to have been a meeting place of the Knights Templar), this Hertford restaurant is bijou and full of atmosphere at any time of day.

Lovely relaxed warm atmosphere inside, helped take the edge of the awful wet and cold day outside! Our waiter was very friendly, helpful and cheerful. Great little pub in the heart of town, staff very friendly and gave a nice welcome. Drinks reasonably priced and food equally love the sausages very tasty. Very good for a quiet drink, business lunch maybe not for a group of friends. Only my ever 2nd visit to this place and I can happily say I will definitely be coming back again. The food was delicious the service was fantastic. Not to pricey. Complimentary shots on the house after your meal. Look forward to coming again soon.

The pub/restaurant was recommended to us by friends so we gave it a go.
Although the pub was quiet the welcome from the lady behind the bar was warm and friendly.
The surroundings were very nice with an inviting log burner keeping the room warm and cosy.
The food was excellent and great value, we will return again soon.

It's hard to see into Old Siam from the street so was quite surprised on entering to find myself in such an ornate room with all wooden panelling and stone elephant statues. Given the only dishes advertised outside were the highlights from the main menu it was also a surprise to be given a reasonably priced lunch menu featuring two courses for £9.95. Although there was a good choice of starters and mains most dishes included pork and chicken rather than duck although around four juicy prawns featured amongst peppers and vegetables in the soup I chose as a starter after the arrival of complimentary prawn crackers. My main a red pork curry was vibrant in colour and was a substantial portion although the ratio of vegetables to strips of pork was quite a high one. The highlight of the meal was the refreshing mango sorbet I ordered for dessert comprising two scoops in a bowl with slices of orange. The single espresso I ordered was the size of a double elsewhere. The answer to the size of a double here came with the sugar bowl marked "double espresso". All in all I found my lunch here a relaxing and civilized experience. Not to be rushed.

After not getting into an other Itialin was delighted o find this little treasure. busy lively friendlily. Good menu, but not overly hungry . the mushrooms could have done with some stuffing. The pasta in creamy sauce was just lovely. very friendly waiters. will be back 2 courses 1 beer and 1 large wine 27 pounds

This is probably one of the best italian restaurants in east herts. Food is superb with a very extensive and wide-ranging menu. Service is verg good. Only criticism is the noise levels can be excessive and some parents let their kids run around which is not on and the staff should prevent this as it detracts from other diners enjoyment.

Stumbled across this hidden gem on a random google search for an afternoon tea. Wow. Beautifully quiet setting, delightfully decorated tearoom and the food was just outstanding. Every single part of this delicious afternoon tea was homemade.
My husband and I have tried many different places for afternoon tea over the years, ranging from posh hotels to the picturesque and quaint tearoom. The Buttercup tearoom is truly the best we have ever had. Amazing food, beautifully presented throughout. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. We're already looking to book a Christmas afternoon tea there.

18:30 near empty , 3rd time of trying. Table for one checked the diary , offered table , but I think my face changed her mind was first table in side door where over next hour many people collected take outs . Mics table in corner settled on . Menu was explained glass of house red Turkish -great color grow on me. Nice starter very thin pizza base with spicy mince onions, lamb and chick kebab rice side salad dips . All very tasty. Mid Turkish coffee to close . Two glasses wine , starter, main and coffee 28 pounds . Good value tasty friendly.well done .
