My wife and I recently went to try out their new menu expansion and we couldn't have been more satisfied! You must try the Fried Mac & Cheese ball appetizers is ridiculously good. The flavor profiles and execution of that alone are worth the visit. I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast burger...and the over easy egg was cooked perfectly to not only add taste but serve as a condiment too. We were also extremely impressed from the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff...and noticed that the manager mad his way around to every table throughout our section just to check on them and chat. We can't wait to go back and try out some of the other new menu items they have added to the menu.

Pizza Corner

This is a great family owned business to eat and enjoy great food, ambiance, and service. The owner is from Greece and is a world traveler. He takes great pride in his food and its presentation. Yes I know him as I moved away several years ago and me and the wife traveled through on vacation and chose to eat there going to the beach. His salads, pizza's, etc are fantastic. He has done much renovation over the last few years and it is a great place to eat with your family or friends.

Village Subs

I had a large club sub from Village Subs tonight.

PROS: The location is convenient for travelers on I40. The quality of ingredients appeared to be good. CONS: The hours of operation seem to be minimal, in my opinion. My sandwich had an excessive amount of mayonnaise; I did not request extra. The sandwiches were a bit overpriced at nearly $14.00. Bacon would have been an additional charge. (I've always known a "club" to include bacon.)

I think that next time, I will drive an extra mile to Subway for a much less expensive sub.

We've driven by here many times, and finally we stopped in for supper. They have a limited menu that includes BBQ, fried chicken, chicken tender and chicken and pastry. Everything was good, all the employees were friendly and helpful. They are only open on Saturday. When we left, they gave us a free bag of pork rinds!

Billy's is actually a butcher shop that just happens to serve cooked BBQ plates, too, but it's some of the best NC style (aka chopped BBQ with a vinegary flavor) that you can find in the area. And, the price is definitely right. For $6.50, you get about a half pound of chopped BBQ, two sides, and hush puppies. Yes, you can probably feel your arteries hardening when you start eating it. And, of course, it's all served in a Styrofoam tray and there's no place to sit and eat it inside. It's a butcher shop, remember? It's very down home and incredibly good. If you want to taste real NC-style BBQ, it's worth the detour and it's just off Hwy 40. However, Billy's is not open on Sundays.

As middle-aged Brits, we had never experienced a Bojangles resto before, and visited this branch post-Hurricane Matthew, when it was the only place open and serving hot food! We were staying at the nearby Holiday Inn Express, and this fast food place was just over the main road.
Had to queue but, to be fair, it seemed to be the only place managing to stay open when there were power problems in the area. Everyone seemed good humoured, and the young lady on the order/pay till was delighted to have Brits in her queue - she recognised the accents!
All the food seemed freshly cooked, salad was plentiful and fresh, and the chicken pieces hot and tasty. My husband had a 'biscuit' - in Britain that's what you call a cookie in the States, and your biscuit is more like a pastry or cake, which we call a scone - whatever the linguistics, it was tasty!
Eating area was a bit bland décor-wise, but it was well-lit and hey, this is a fast-food place where most people do the take-out service anyway.
Would recommend for a fair-priced meal and the pleasant staff.

Mik's

A generic brand of frozen pre-breaded seafood from your local grocery store would be better. Went for the brisket & ribs on a Saturday night & was told right away by the waitress there was no brisket or ribs as the man who cooks it on Thursday (for the entire weekend!) had been out of town. Wanted fried calamari but when asked, the waitress said it was pre-breaded. Should've been my clue about the seafood entrées, but no....anyway, we ordered fried mushrooms as an appetizer. Have you ever ordered a fried dish & it was apparent the grease was old? The portion size was good. However, the batter on the mushrooms was wet with grease & when we bit into them, grease dripped out in our mouths & if we dipped them, grease dripped into the ranch dipping sauce. The side salad really was delicious & contained a spring mix of lettuce, cheese, onions, tomatoes & cucumbers. It was cold & fresh & we thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband got a bacon cheeseburger & it looked great & he said it was pretty good. It was huge. I decided to try the seafood combo - fried shrimp, fried cod, & clam strips. Living in this area, I expected the clams to be of the pre-breaded variety. What I didn't expect was the entire trio to be of the pre-breaded kind. I took 2 bites of the clam strips & if there was a clam in there, well....they had a very mushy consistency & had no flavor at all (unless you count the old grease flavor). The batter on the cod was a hard crust & once I broke it open, I found the fish flavorless. The batter on the shrimp was similar to that on the cod. Now. I may be wrong but I have eaten a lot of good, freshly breaded fried seafood in my life but I am pretty sure this seafood was of a very low-grade quality. I tried everything & simply found it inedible. My other side was a baked potato & I had no complaints with it. I guess if you want a beer & a burger & want to watch sports, this is the place for you but whatever you do, don't try the seafood!

I went with my daughter and 14 month old granddaughter. Our first order of business was a diaper change. Went into the ladies restroom and NO changing table! That was a shock. For a restaurant that claims to be family oriented, why would they not provide a changing table? We are not the kind of folks that will change a diaper on the table, so we had to return to the car. The food we ordered was delicious and served in a timely manner.

Traveling and stopped for a quick meal. Wow, great food, homemade and a buffet. Plenty of parking, clean and plenty of seating. Not the biggest selection, but the quality of the homemade food made up for it. Fried chicken and sweet potatoes were excellent!. They have baked chicken, mini meat loafs, pork ribs, plus more. Vegetables were well seasoned, Liam beans, okra, corn, peas, potatoes, salad bar, plus others. They had a salad bar and dessert station. Staff are friendly, helpfully and attentive. Service of the south with that special touch. Again all food made from scratch. Would highly recommend and will stop again when in or near Wallace NC.
