My wife and returned to the Sofitel Denerau Fiji for a long weekend getaway - the second time this year and the fourth time since getting married there this time three years ago. Aside from being the best complex on Denerau it is made even more special by the various staff members who welcome you like you are family. Many of the staff genuinely recognise you and our last night was no exception. We dined at the Waitui Bar & Grill and were greeted with a big hug by Paulini. This was the first time weâd seen her this trip as sheâd been on leave over the past few days.Our meal was amazing. I can thoroughly recommend the seafood entree and the pork ribs - so good.As this was our last night Paulini led several of her team members in the Sofitel rendition of Isa Lei. Their harmonyâs were stunning and such a lovely sentiment was very special.Other team members who made the team special for their guests were Ali, Alice, Eveni, Val, Soko, Sherri and Sia.We were blessed to spend our days around the beach club and enjoy breakfasts in this special adults only area. Our other stars that make things special include Solo, Jerry and Sam. Selai in the office was also very helpful on our last day. We dropped in for lunch. The food was okay but the service was all over the place. If someone said Fiji time one more time I was going to loose it. Staff brought water jug to the table and another took it away. We had dinner and breakfast at the shack. While our dinner was yummy the portions were a little on the small side, especially the entrees. The breakfast on the other hand was massive, yum and great value for money, we would do breakfast again for sure (we are gym goers so we like to eat haha) The location is perfect, lovely in the day, and a bit special in the night, dim lights, reggae music and waves, great for drinks :)
