A good hotel, but the city around it needs work.
Reviewed By Piet dPlan was to sleep in or near Vidin, but I was not impressed by the general appearance of the city. At a fuel-station, another motorcycle-rider told me he had not found a suitable place to stay and would continue to the next city. I persisted.. I used the internet to re-check and finally choose Neptune. Reservation by telephone was smooth, reception spoke english. Finding the hotel was easy: it is very nicely located on the main Boulevard. Check-in was smooth, cards-accepted, and the room was nice, very spacious, and cool. The general impression of the hotel is Old but Good. Clean, Spacious and Comfortable. Wifi was OK. I had to work a little and didnt take the time to check the spa/pool area, but a short walk along the Danube made me think this city has a lot of (tourism)potential, and hotel Neptun is Ideally located on the Quay of the Danube. Dinner at the hotel was ok, the garden can be a nice place to sit and relax. Sleep was Good, and breakfast, in the garden, was good as well. All in all a good place to stay in Vidin, and good value for money too. This hotel could become a regular stop on my trips to Bg, and I hope the city improves a little over time as well.

Also, don't miss the diner at their restaurant: no tourists there, but a very pleasant athmosphere, and good food. Very nice, perfectly made, breakfast.

Here you are 7 min away from the main street and 1 min away from Danube river. I liked the place and the team. But I also know it is not for everyone :)

Reviewed By b0zhenavI stayed at the hotel with my husband and really enjoyed it. Good value for money :comfy bed, clean room, tv, fridge, breakfast included. Staff were nice and polite. I had a coffee in the restaurant /bar area every morning and it was superb: tasty coffee and nice environment. Most of the staff are speaking English which is a plus as well.

GREAT VALUE, NICE PLACE
Reviewed By 7333this is not the ritz, but it is a clean, friendly, welcoming, attractive place near to the river and walkable easily to the bus station and train station. and near to the river so one can walk along the river to the restaurants along there to eat dinner in and up to the castle. vidin is a small town so all is in walking distance. the reception folks are very kind and a bit weak on the english but do their best. if you have any complilcated questions about vidin you can go across the street to the high rise hotel and ask the reception there. the room was more lux than i expected, and the bathroom was fine, and yes it is that european variety with the shower just a part of it but that is no big deal. breakfast was ok, and i had a bit of dinner there and it was ok. they have the tv on in the bar and my room was just above it so i told them to turn off the tv at 10pm and THEY DID. very nice folks and a great money saver of a charming little hotel. i would stay thee again. it is NOT far from the downtown.

An absolute No-Go for any traveller
Reviewed By Maik5717We arrived in the hotel on 24th of October 2019 in the evening. The lady at the counter was unfriendly and uninterested. She gave us the key and we had to carry our luggage into the room ourselves. After we went eating we wanted to go to bed, which was impossible, as the bed of my wife was completely wet. We asked the lady for a room change. She said that all rooms are rented out and we should live with that. We asked her to return our money in order we can look for another hotel. She refused. We asked for the manager. She told us, he was not available. So we asked her to call the police. 3 policeman came to ask, what the problem was. Suddenly the manager was available as well. We told them the situation, but the officers did not do much. They convinced the manager to return half of the money and went away. After that we had to discuss for 2,5 hours with the manager until he became abnormally angry and threw half of the price onto the table, opened the door for us and shouted : Out here ! There is no way to excuse such a behaviour and no way that he did not return the whole rent. We were lucky that he did not decide to beat us. Please, dear travellers : Avoid to stay in this hotel.
