I ate there today and had my favorite, brisket & sausage, with green beans and potato salad. When you put their bbq sauce, a family recipe, on your meat, it turns already great meat into something special. The potato salad is like nothing i have had with a touch of sweet to it. I usually get the green beans to go with it and have never been disappointed. Word of warning, you may have the odor of smoke and have a hard time denying you had bbq. Also, Wednesday is pork chop day. You have to see it to believe it.

We we checked in to the Holiday Inn Express just around the corner and when we got the wifi up and running I googled local restaurants and Noot's came up first. I quickly checked the reviews and we decided to try it . The minute we walked in I could smell the food and knew it would be good. We arrived just before 6 pm and it was well on the way to getting busy for a Friday night. We sat down and like lightening had two Singha beers at the table, this made my husband a very happy man. We didn't waste time ordering, I chose the green vegetable curry and my husband the sizzling beef vegetable and basil stir fry. Both came with a serve of jasmine rice. We opted out of appetisers as we are trying not to over eat on our road trip. However we saw the other tables and were a bit jealous. The reviews said the Golden Moons were awesome and by the looks of them going past out table they are one of the most popular. Our food and two more beers appeared and boy was it good. My veggies were cooked to perfection and the green curry sauce was tasty with the right amount of heat. My husbands beef was mouth watering your tender and he had the right amount of vegetables and his heat flavours were amazing. The menu is extensive with classic choices modern twists and chefs favourites. I wished I had of braved the salmon gingered vegetable stir fry but I was so pleased with my curry. As we are only passing through we will not have the opportunity to dine here again, but I hope plenty of others do. Dinner and a couple of beers for under $40 bucks US !!!! Winning :)

My wife and I were in town and we had dinner at the Pump House with a very special friend of ours. We had reservations and were seated immediately and the restaurant itself is a nice place and the style is appealing. As it was Lent, we focused on the seafood for our dinner options. We started the meal with the South of the Border Eggrolls, which were just awesome. The taste was different and they were truly the best eggrolls I've ever had. The waitress didn't take our meal orders until we were done with the eggrolls and the entrees took a great deal of time to arrive. My wife had the Panko-Crusted Shrimp and I and our friend had the Southwest Flounder. To me, the flounder was presented well, but there was too much tortilla crusting on the flounder and it watered down the taste of the fish. The siracha aioli did help but it's pretty warm. The shrimp my wife had were tasty, but it was a sweet taste. Don't get me wrong, they were good, but not what I typically expect from a shrimp dish. We were not overly impressed hence the lower rating, but I hope to go back again some time and try the other entrees which sounded good.

Jim's Big Burger

Family owned restaurant in Victoria, Tx. Best hamburgers in Victoria.

This is a wonderful "hometown family place" that has great food and service. Unlike other establishments here in town the people here actually will smile and ask "have you been helped yet" (they are not buried in their smart phone or give you the feeling "what the heck ate you doing here"!). I like the fact when i ordered my "fish sandwich" it was cod fish (although fried it wasnt oily greasy, it was fresh and clean). I was surprised when i asked "what kind of bread comes on it" i was greeted with a smile and told "normally hamburger bun but we have texas toast, wheat..." And i said "wheat and can you add jalapenos"? And she said "sure, we can make it how you want it". Now wasnt that pleasant! Someone (restaurant business) that actually hears what you have to say and makes you feel like you were noticed and important to their business. Interesting concept! The onion rings were plentiful and crispy and tarter sauce was great and tasteful. The wheat bread bun was fresh and good also. The lemonade was refreshing. There is lots of open seating from tables to enclosed bench type seats. You have a condiment section where you have to serve yourself catsup, cutlery, napkins and hot sauce.
Great place to eat burgers and diner type yummy food. You will be happy here and leave satisfied! Thanks.

We wanted to go someplace we'd never been before... check.

We wanted someplace not a franchise... almost check but when we got there we found out they're franchising. Oh well.

This is a pretty unique burger place even offering Chicken, Turkey, Veggie and Elk burger in addition to the usual beef.

You can choose one of their "preselected" burgers or make own with a huge variety of buns, cheeses, and sides... even Nutella and grape jelly if you want.

The sea salt or Cajun fries come with the burger or other things can be substituted.

In my mind I compare it to my favorite burger places in New Braunfels but this is 50% to 75% more expensive, so it's more pricey than I'd expect to pay usually. But it was unique and something you may not expect to find in a smaller town like Victoria!

Stopped in for lunch and had the Little Plate Special. The food was good and the service was fast. My first trip in so I was not accustomed as to how to order the Specials. Next I tweak the order and skip the veggies for something else. I will however recommend this place for anyone who wants to get a little downhome cooking.

Went on a recommendation. Not impressed.
The person that recommended it actually said if the law enforcement eats somewhere you know it's good- and yes there were some officers there but we didn't like it any better than any of the other taquerias, Tex mex places.
The salsa had a good flavor but the chips were plain and hard. The shrimp cocktail was like ketchup based. Enchiladas nothing to get excited about! Chalupa was good- didn't skimp. Cucumber drink was ok. Don't think we would go back- there's more in this town to try yet.

This is a little gem of a breakfast to late lunch spot. They specialize in homemade bread, which they use on their sandwiches and you can purchase different types of loaves of bread. Their restaurant menu specializes in sandwiches and there are also salads and soups. I had a sandwich and the greek salad and both were yummy. There are good vegetarian options as well. Love this hometown place.

The Mexican martini is worth the trip, but go on Monday or Friday when they are half price! Food is good but service at the bar and in the restaurant aren't super. Not the type of service you would expect with the prices. Either lower the prices or raise the service!
