Stumbled across this place by accident, but will definitely be back. The staff were so friendly (and patient with my rusty Spanish). They had no problem providing vegan options, a vegetable fajita which was out of this world tasty. The chef informed us they source all veg from the local vendors, something that was apparent from the quality of the food. Would definitely recommend a visit. Great food and such lovely staff.

We booked a table for dinner based on other reviews. We agree with the recommendations. Beautiful setting (if you book you are more likely to get a table on the terrace), and friendly staff.I'd advise staff recommendations on food choice. Away from the bustling tourist area. Very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the innovative dishes. Who would have thought you could transform a bland aubergine with a curry cheese and honey sauce,brilliant! We left the choice to Miguel 5 excellent courses the duck was exceptional. A very good bottle of albariño to compliment. Not cheap but well worth it.

We came by this gorgeous place just by stumbling across it and I have to say it is probably my new favourite place in Spain, it was totally amazing, the food is gorgeous, we had paella and it was sooooo nice. The cocktails are amazing too, I havenât tasted any nicer in Spain at all. My friend is gluten free and we read the menu wrong, she ordered a burger and we thought it was gluten free, we thought we best check before she ate it, the guy told us it wasnât, but because it was our mistake she was just going to eat everything but the bun, but no he ordered some fresh gluten free buns, my friend said they were lovely. The staff are very friendly and go out of their way to help, he explained the whole menu to us. Very highly recommended and will definitely be returning very soon Thank you very much for your words. Katana is a very small outlet with 9 Bar chairs which is located within the Central Market in Alicante. Run by three young people, they produce excellent Sushi, Tuna Tataki, a very creative beef tartare, Vietnamese dishes, and other. Three people with a bottle of Ribeiro â¬109.00 plus tip. Very nice. This is without doubt one of the best meal you can get in Orihuela Costa. The atmosfare in this restaurant is charming. But the service is very unprofessional. After waitng with my empty plate front of me without getting any tention from the waiters, even they non stop passed my table, finally one of them grap my plate without giving me even a glimt, and left. I had to wait another 10 min. to get a tention and ask for my desert of the three course menu I ordered. When I complained, the waiter became very rude. Unplesant experience, I have to say and not you expect from such a good restaurant.Hi there Thanks for your review. Apologies but on the day you lodged a complaint saying that you had been waiting 45mins to order dessert.... surprised to see you now say 10 but anyhow.... You didnât just complain, you grabbed Vikas and tried to wrestle away a stack of menus he was holding in his hands. Thatâs when he became rude . Sorry itâs not ok to physically grab staff. If we have given bad customer service we will apologize, but on this occasion I am not going to because you were completely out of order, and I think itâs fair to say that alcohol has impaired your recollection of this incident. It is not often we threaten to call the police, but this was one of those times, and the lovely guests beside you even offered to pay your bill , so you would go away with your ranting and raving.However must say, thank you for your fair review of the food. We are glad you enjoyed it, and you are welcome back to our restaurant ( as long you donât attempt to grab any member of staff next time )

What a disgrace that they donât speak proper English at all. We thought we booked a table but when we arrived there was no table. The real sad, un-Michelin type element was they offered no solution, no solace, no service gesture whatsoever. I get it when a reservation goes bad, and it happens sometimes. But they even got mad at us after we suggested they improved their English a bit in order to prevent such mistakes. The food might be great (they say) but their empathy levels are shockingly low. If they wouldâve just offered us a drink and ordered us a cab we wouldâve felt fine but they treated us quite bad. Your reservation was booked for January 12 2019, the reservation was attended by the chef in person who speaks perfectly English. Today you have called to say that you were late, and I do not understand very much English, so I asked please to wait a moment to attend them better in English, since you do not speak either Spanish or French. You passed me the call to a friend of yours who speaks Spanish and confirmed me that you were Mr. Holtonn.When the real Mr. Holtonn shows up at the restaurant, I called you up to three occasions with no answer. Once you were in the restaurant, we were just looking at how to fix it, I asked you to wait, that in less than an hour we would set a table for you to attend tonight, not the one you had reserved for January 12.As they did not want to wait for me to solve the problem of misunderstanding of the reservation, we could not do anything for you to have dinner here today.From number 29 to 12, there is a lot of difference in any language, this Saturday 29 was complete, even with reservations waiting for about ten days, which was very unlikely that you could run the reserve for today 29. We called for the taxi indeed.We deeply regret this misunderstanding.El Xato

I'm going to keep this short, because there is a plethora of glowing reviews about this amazing five table restaurant. That it compares with or exceeds the culinary experiences we've had at many famous destination dining spots is simply stunning when you consider that it's entire staff consists of the husband and wife team of Olivia and Fernando. The dining experience was exceptional, every dish was memorable. This restaurant is for those who adore great food. Just two tips. Make reservations and order their foie gras -- it will take you to gastronomic heaven.
