Stopped for lunch, ice cold beer and absolutely delicious rice and curry...which also happens to be vegan, although we are not. It was not spicy, so if you like it hot, ask for it to be.Thank you remos for a delicious lunch.

We grabbed a takeaway sandwich from here before our walk to Little Adamâs Peak, and it was not good.We went for the vegetable sandwich with avocado, but the bread was chewy and stale, there was no avocado, and it just tasted of onion. They also use lots of plastic and polystyrene in the takeaways - WHY!? It is a sandwich, you donât need to put it in a non-degradable box!

We ordered rice and curry, and it was obvious the rice was a day old, and cold. The curries were bland even though we asked for "Sri Lankan spicy"--why didn't they believe us? surely we know what we want. On the menu was "lemu rice", which for 300 extra rupees was supposed to be one better on the plain old rice and curry. Not so. Just yesterday's cold rice arriving on a banana leaf. To be fair, they didn't charge us after we complained. The place was always empty. Now we know why.

We were looking for a late night bite to eat in Ella and came across Burger Brew. It had a good selection of sandwiches and burgers along with some Sri Lankan choices. We were in the mood for some cheap Sri Lankan khottu and got their cheese khottu which was really tasty. The service was great and we got a free bottle of water with our meal which was a plus. It's a well decorated and comfortable place that is open-aired and located on the second floor of the building. They also had some good music playing. Would recommend! Definitely back next time we're in Ella.
