Not our first visit to Alloro as we found this gem earlier in the year. As usual it was welcoming, friendly and unpretensious. The food is great comes hot and fresh, with something for everyone. Pizza and pasta of course, it's Italian. But also braised lamb shank or belly pork etc. We had a Gluten and Dairy free person with us and the staff were knowledgable about their menu and what she could choose. Wine list is also sensible and well priced. We are always surprised when the bill arrives - in a good way! Great value for money.

I ordered our food and was told it would be 45 minute delivery. I questioned this because it was on a Saturday night which I thought would be their busiest night. I was told that they werenât as busy as the previous evening so it would be no more than an hour. After waiting an hour and a half I phoned and told it was on its way. It turned up within ten minutes but was barely warm. The pitta was completely soggy from being soaked in the water from the salad and the chicken was dry and over cooked.The food had obviously been in the drivers car for some time. Cold food,soggy pitta,over cooked chicken and more than twice as long as originally told for delivery. Not good.

Had a fantastic birthday meal. It was my first visit here and Iâd been told it was lovely. It didnât disappoint the food was fantastic and very flavoursome. The only dish I was not so keen on was the pizza base. However, 2 out of the 4 of us enjoyed it. The wines, cocktails and service were also all perfect. I am looking forward to my next visit which will be very soon. Iâve already recommended to several people. Cheers. I ordered a takeaway online, two pizzas âMia meatballâ and their âdiavoloâ. As it was someoneâs birthday we also ordered their two cheesecakes, a Nutella one and a lemon one, both apparently homemade.The pizzas were great, really delicious, not too oily and nice bases. The deserts unfortunately were a bit rubbish. The âcheese toppingâ on each was really nice, however the biscuity bit was really soggy and unappealing. Also the Nutella cheesecake had a bit of a kinda bueno on it, which is cool, unfortunately this was a bit stale which is not so cool.For £5.50 a pop I wouldnât buy them again, as for that price you expect them to be good.So I would recommend the mains but cannot recommend the deserts based upon what Iâve sampled myself.

Family of three booked and had a very enjoyable pizza meal. Restaurant and decor are distinctly no frills; wooden tables, benches, not unlike an authentic pizza place in Italy. Pizzas were very good, as was side salad. Glass of house red was also good quality. Dessert menu perhaps could do with a few additions as a little sparse. Service was good from 'older' staff - may have been owner, not sure, but the youngsters were not quite so good and didn't seem to remember much!Nevertheless we enjoyed the meal and experience and are likely to return !!Hi James,Thank you for posting a review and for the constructive feedback. I am glad all in all you had a positive experience.We are a bit limited on the amount of choice we can offer as we make everything in house and fresh.
