We weren't expecting much from such a rurally located pub as they have a captive audience but we were pleasantly surprised. The landlady was very friendly and helpful and the food was wonderful. The salmon rilette and chicken parfait starters were both delicious. My partner very much enjoyed his meal, my lamb livers and bacon was a massive portion and liver maybe slightly overdone but still delicious. We would definitely return if we were in the area.

We stayed here many years ago whilst house hunting in north Devon, and having been successful we occasionally stop by when we are on Exmoor. The food here really cannot be faulted and what is particularly good is the well thought out menu which contains many twists on basic pub grub. My husband informs me that the hand pulled beer is a testament to the owners.

The George Inn is a 500 year old traditional country pub and B&B on the east of Exmoor close to Wimbleball lake and 4 miles from Dulverton. We serve traditional Food and Real Ales and are both Family and Dog friendly. We also offer Free Superfast Wifi in
We visited The George firstly for a quick pint, and liked it so much we booked for Sunday lunch, the traditional English roast. This was an toothsome meal, beef or pork or both, with a list of great desserts. The beer is great, the landlady and staff are warm and friendly, there is a lovely garden area and the windows look out over the roofs of the town to the green fields and hills of Exmoor. Wonderful experience. I would love to go back with a good book and settle in for a few refreshments.

Came here the other night. The food was good for the price, not to expensive and a reasonable varied menu. The waitress staff were very friendly. However, it took about an hour for our food to arrive, I'm not sure if it was busy, all 6 tables were booked through. No reason given. Some alarm went off have way through meal, took quite a while to turn it off. All in all an experience. It certainly not the best restaurant in Dulvington but it's worth a visit if you've been to the others.

If I could give this terrible excuse of an establishment no stars I would. Absolutely disgustingly rude staff who would rather keep their custom close knit than accept willing and paying customers. Me and a fair few of my friends we're going to pop in for a few drinks and food after attending a close friends funeral in Bampton. We were all told promptly to F off and one of us was called the C word. Nobody did anything to deserve this other than parking in their car park. Do not give these people your time of day because they do not want it.First and foremost we would like to send out sincere condolences to the family of the young man who passed away- we do not know these people as they do not frequent the pub, our first experience of the people attending his wake was a convoy of cars driving into a private car park belonging to the anchor pub out of those cars came a lot of young people drinking cans and flagons of cider, quiet daunting, one car proceeded to drive around the car park with a person laying on the bonnet and another person taking his clothes off. When approached we tried to exlain to these people that they were in fact parking in a private area one on the two of the people became quiet abusive under the influence of drink thus was no intention of coming in the pub and even if they did we would not have served them The Anchor Inn by its normal reviews is a family pub and does not tolerate people who obviously cant hold their drink. I think it was a sad way to say goodbye to a friend by disrespecting the community where he + his family lived, your noise was heard well into the early hours.

The Bear is a 17th Century coaching inn that reflects Wiveliscombe's heritage. The Bear is a traditional English pub where the atmosphere is friendly and convivial, where young and old and families mix. Dogs on leads are welcome in the pub and outside pat
Had a really lovely family meal including lovely home made gluten free pizza. It was busy in the pub but we were made very welcome and didnât have to wait long. Had the most amazing ploughmanâs with scotch eggs and balsamic onions. Would thoroughly recommend and will definitely go back when in the area. Good choice at reasonable prices. Lovely outside seating area.
