We have eaten there a handful of times in the past (and got take away a few times as well), but the food is really average, not a huge amount of flavour and quite oily. It is really your average local Indian restaurant, not bad, not great. Better Indian restaurants nearby. Service is good though, they are very friendly and welcoming.

Having read about Sea Spice and being in the area we called in and thought it looked OK so decided to eat. The menu claims that the food is traditional rather than what your average Indian restaraunt serves up across the UK. The menu read well, Mrs IT ordered Salmon Tikka I ordered a Chicken Biryani, both dishes were a huge disappointment. The salmon was just three chunks sitting sadly on a dish and plain rice in a small bowl, it did not bode well. My biryani saw a bowl piled high with rice, turned out to be saffron, I dislike what I term scented food, with five chunks of chicken underneath. Two mouthfuls was enough, dry, uninteresting, same with my wife's she only got through hers due to a small pot of yoghurt. I advised the waiter I simply could not eat my meal, to be fair he took it off the bill. I was advised that the food was prepared as they do in Northern India, sadly I do not feel this is suited to the UK taste buds. Asian food should be full of flavour, moist with spices and sauces, just look at the food programmes on TV. Mrs IT and myself had high hopes we left feeling let down, and hungry.

Prince of Bengal

We had a party of 9, including 3 kids. They had set up the table for us and everyone seemed satisfied, except one who ordered a coconut based dish which she said tasted different to the one at home. The service was good and quite fast, although the waiter seemed quite visibly disappointed when we asked for water and no drinks.
