Naan bread was stodgy and dense. It seemee like it was perhaps not cooked in a tandoor oven? Maybe a tawa or cooled in an oven? The vindaloo was poor. Really lacking flavour and forgetful. When I first tried around 9 months ago the food was much better. Maybe an off day?

We went to see a live band on a packed Friday evening.Everyone there friendly and in good spirits .. but the standout feature was the bar staff... The place was heaving but you never waited for more than a few minutes to be served by the young , professional staff who were right on top of everything all night ..such a shock when normally pubs like this have just minimal staff even when they know it’s going to be busy .. the worst for this locally is The Minnow in Weybridge, they never have enough staff , always long waits to be served for drinks and food and hardly ever get the food order right if there’s more than two people !

We had a table for 2 booked for my birthday. We had checked the Tripadvisor reviews prior to booking and they were mostly positive, so we had reasonably high expectations. On arrival the place was by no means busy and we got our table straight away. We were given the menus and our order was taken. The starters came and they were very good and thus far we had ro reason to complain. Had they continued in this vain, we would have had no cause for complaint. But they didnt! Our mains were both steaks. Mine cooked medium with chips and my other half was very well done with sweet potato fries. We specifically exphasised the VERY WELL DONE as she hates anything that looks remotely bloody. Both steaks arrived with normal chips and we pointed out one was supposed to be with sweet potato fries, so they took it away again. A few mins later it came back with the correct fries. When my other half cut into the steak, it was cooked medium at best, so it went back again. All this time, I was eating mine otherwise it would have gone cold. By the time the steak was returned, I had nearly finished mine. After we had both finished our mains, we ordered desserts. We waited about 15 minutes and they still hadnt arrived so we called the waiter over and cancelled the desserts and asked for the bill. To be fair, the waiter knew they hadnt done a good job and reduced our bill significantly as a gesture of good will. We hadn't asked for this, it was his doing so this showed us that they at least acknowledged they had under performed and is the only reason we may in the future give them another go. All in all, not the birthday meal we expected, especially given that we didnt feel we even ate together. The missus felt that the mains were on par with what she would cook at home and didn't feel the quality was there. I thought it tasted OK though but the plates could be garnished up a little, it just looked a bit bland. The staff blamed it on the head chef being off but this isnt really good enough. I would suggest that the staff also keep an eye on the guests tables and if they see an empty glass, just ask if the guest would like another drink. I didnt like having to wait and try and flag a waitress down to get another drink.Would we go back? Probably, just to give them the benefit of the doubt but we wont rush.Hi Toully,Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review from your recent visit. Please accept my apologies for a disappointing experience. I have spoken with team working on that Saturday evening shift to ensure everyone takes the time to read an order back to the guests to make sure everything going through to the kitchen is correct so all food leaving the kitchen is as it was ordered and the team are all aware of all guests and if they need anything else.It is pleasing to hear we acknowledged the issue and there is a chance of a return visit to show you our usual high standards.Kind regards,Dan & The Retreat Team

Even though I live locally I hadn’t been to the pub since it had changed to KTM Rox. I had been recommended the food by a friend and must say I pleasantly surprised at how much it had changed for the better.Yes the drink prices are more on par with Twickenham/Richmond but we were happy to pay more for the relaxed atmosphere. I also thought the food was very good value as even the small plates are a generous size.I’m not normally a fan of dumplings but their momo’s have converted me, I will be back soon for sure!♥️

The restaurant is nicely decorated and has a range of different foods - would have liked to see a few more veggie choices. However, the veggie choices offered were slightly different to the usual halloumi burger! Staff were very accommodating to friend who has quite specific dietary requirements. She was given a folder which detailed all the ingredients for each of the items on the menu and the chef was able to cater to her needs. Very nice atmosphere! Thanks for the terrific rating and review Trish. So looking forward to having you back at The Kingfisher again soon.Best,DomGeneral Manager

The Queens Head

The Queen's Head was built in the mid 18th century and has been both a coach house and courthouse (complete with its own gallows) before becoming a pub many years ago. Step inside and the character of the building is felt in the cosiness of the snugs, the

This has been my favourite place in Weybridge for many years but today the staff let the place down badly . Sat in the bar having a drink at 6pm but tables full of glasses and empty plates . Gave the staff the opportunity to clear the tables but after half an hour asked a bar man who was busy chatting to a colleague about a night out if he could clear the tables he asked me which table I was sitting at . I explained there were at least six tables which needing clearing. He replied yep mate !! He then went round picking up glasses but left the empty plates napkins and pieces of string and did not wipe any of the tables. Now people are arriving for evening service and moving the detritus themselves. With new competition coming into Weybridge the Queens Head will suffer unless there are standards that the team feel are their responsibility to deliver. P. S Now after an hour and half of looking at empty lunch plates have decided not to stay for dinner Hi MichaelV8163UOThank you for your review and pictures.I would like to apologise for the experience you had in the bar last night, as you are aware it is not up to the high standard that we pride ourselves on.I am somewhat gobsmacked about the time you suggest the plates were left on the tables for as aside from the bartenders who are attentive and aware, the managers also zone the bar and clear, serve, whatever is necessary.... Whilst we were busy last night, this is no excuse.I will reiterate to everyone today the importance of doing what we normally do (which includes swiftly clearing and cleaning tables), so please accept my apologies for this "one off".We are very aware of the new competition soon to join us in Weybridge, and we look forward to welcoming them to the area, we are of course dedicated to continue to operate to the high standards that our guests have become accustomed to.I do sincerely hope that this will not prevent you from coming to our pub in the near future.I would be keen to talk to you directly, so please contact me on [email protected] so I can discuss your evening with you personally. Many thanksHarriet WalkerGeneral Manager
