Reviewed By Gadabout666Extra double beds in reality are two beds made into one with 4 mattresses - unpleasant to sleep or hug with partner. No hot water, cold at night, curtains not cover windows properly, chambers pots everywhere.

Reviewed By 249anetteelThe hotel is small and pleasant. It’s located in the old town so it’s close to walk everywhere. Room was amazing , comfortable with a large bathroom. Man by reception had a positive approach, was helpful and caring. They started doing breakfast too however we didn’t try it because brownie or scrambled eggs with bread , ham and cheese etc seem to be too narrow options. Do some granola, overnight oats, porridge of different flavours - stand out from the crowd. The only downside we experienced was a huge noise outside for the half of the night and it was only Monday.

Rip off, disappointing and offended - inviting hotel but little enjoyment
Reviewed By Keith RThis old bar and hotel is full old charm and character, however that is where the good news ends. Very overpriced for the quality of the rooms and facilities. Mediocre breakfast, dirty, messy, small rooms and trouble getting refund for 2nd night (unused). At first the staff seemed understanding and apologetic, and agreed to a refund, after being originally charged 500pln per night, when the going rate was just 200pln. However they couldn't refund the card used to pay, so asked for bank details. Again, this needed to be Polish bank, and as a tourist wasn't possible for us, so we are still waiting. I feel ripped off as a tourist into this fine city. Room was small and pokey with dirty ripped carpets, no amenities except a kettle a 1 tea bag, bathroom was small with dirty, chipped paint. Asked to change rooms, and the 3 other options were little improvement. Pillows were wafer thin. For £100gbp per night, I would have expected much better quality. Instead this room was barely worth £20 per night.

Great Location
Reviewed By Robert FThe location is prime. Right in Old Town on the Main Square. They bring breakfast up to your room - breakfast included. There is a bar below ground and a great restaurant on the ground floor. Service was all smiles. We had the 4th floor and a 5th floor apartment - only draw back is that the firth floor wifi signal was beyond weak. It was fine on the fourth floor. They need a router per floor. I would stay here again. Walking distance to restaurants, bars and all of Old Town. Torun is a great treasure with a fantastic Old Town.

Reviewed By Kevin MWent to Torun for the Speedway GP. Left the booking to the last min as usual . Torun was nearly booked everywhere and we were left with this place. What a surprise . Had a great time stayed for one night but would have stayed longer. First thing I do is get on google maps and thought what have I booked . When you get there it's brilliant .dont be put of by the look of the place . Yes it's very dated nothing matches in the room and the decor is strange, blue, pink, orange and gold in our room. But we found it spotless and the staff were great . They spoke great English and were very helpful, the location is ok but it's best to get a taxi into town 23 zloty (£5) . We did have some noise at night but we didn't leave the bar till 12:30 ( beer about £1.40 to £1.60 ) so a few doors banging but not for long. A mix of families with young children , business men and Speedway fans .no trouble all mixed and all polite . Food was good . I would recommend for people who are happy to give things a go . If your a bit of a snob it might not be for you. Remember it seems dated to us In the UK. but we will return

Great family run hotel
Reviewed By Diane0360This is the second time we have stayed here in the last 3 years and it was just as good as our first visit. The staff can not do enough for you, really really helpful. Our friend we were travelling with left his mobile in a taxi, and they rang every taxi firm, without being asked, to try and find it for him. The rooms are spacious and clean, breakfast is Polish breakfast but loads of it. The hotel is 31/2 miles from Torun centre so you need a taxi as there is no bus or tram to get you there. 30pzl during the day, 50 at night. Plenty of parking which is free if you have a car. Free WIFI. It could do with tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms but the staff were happy to make one for you if you asked. No bar and nothing nearby, so you will need to stock up on drinks if you intend to stay in for the evening and want a drink. This hotel does not cater for food except for breakfast. Overall, I like it here, suits my needs and would definitely come a 3rd time if I needed to. Oh.....and the beds? THE best ever.....soooo comfortable!

Basic but Ok for a short stay

Reviewed By HollyFanA very warm welcome from Gabriel and we managed to understand eachother quite well. The rooms are very clean and comfortable.Wi fi is free. It is a good stretch of the legs to town but you can always catch a taxi back home.Remember to take a hotel card. Gabrielle gave us good recommendations for restaurants. There are tea and coffee making facilities but a small fridge and microwave for guest use would have been appreciated given that evening meals are not part of the tarif. No problem, if you want to chill your wine you can use the fishpond outside as we did one night. No fish were harmed as there weren't any in it! Have a meal at Hotel Spichrz inexpensive and delicious.
