Idaho Whitewater Unlimited

Reviewed By KrazyNana

Idaho Whitewater Unlimited by far exceeded our expectations! Professional, polite, entertaining and our guide, Dustin was extremely knowledgeable. We did Staircase, a class 4 and not once did we feel like our raft was out of control or that we were in any danger. The thrill of the rapids and the security in having an excellent guide, along with his experienced assistant, makes me anxious to go back and do it again! What a fantastic experience they provided for us. I would HIGHLY recommend!

My friend and i decided to go on the class II/III trip. She had never gone whitewater rafting before. We had an excellent raftmaster 'Ellis' who led us through a fun, exciting and safe trip! The company seems to be very well run. Light snacks...MoreThanks for your review sherrie526! I will send kudos along to Ellis and we hope to see you on the water again sometime soon!

Bear Valley Rafting

I'm not the most adventurous type but got roped into a great day rafting with the Bear Valley crew. Such a great team (particularly Chris) who made sure we had an amazing yet safe time. We did the moderate course down main payette and would do it again!

Kirkham Hot Springs

Reviewed By luv2travel074 - Phoenix, Arizona

First discovered this place while rafting. Then had time to check out on our own. It is a cool place to check out. Although busy it was worth the little hike to get down to the springs and experience the cold river water and the hot springs water. It was a warm day so no need to spend too much time in the springs but still felt good and neat to see.

Garden Valley Trail Rides

Reviewed By Ginnie H - Seattle, Washington

Today, my friend and I saddled up for a fantabulous ride along fragrant floral and pine scented woodland trails. Ford, my gentle horse, Liz, my friend's horse, followed Maryjo, our friendly, skilled and highly experienced trail guide who rode ahead of us. Awe-inspiring scenery surrounds. A million wild flowers brighten the way. A super fun and exhilarating lush valley experience. We are novices at riding, but felt completely at ease because horses are gentle and our guide gives confidence by answering questions and gives easy-to-follow instruction pre-ride. Highly recommended!

Idaho Sleigh Rides

Reviewed By rtoddgodfrey - Meridian, Idaho

We got the private sleigh ride for 4 people. Little on the spendy side but well worth the price for experience. The day was sunny and cold. Make sure you take a blanket to cover your legs and dress warm. The herd of elk were 5 feet from us. Highly recommend the trip. We are going to try to find 8 more people to go up and do it again. Great hospitality.

Dirty Shame Saloon

Reviewed By Fabvagtrp

Don't get me wrong, finding this place open on a Sunday afternoon was awesome but stepping inside you have to question whether or not stopping was a good idea. The place needs to be cleaned, period. The floor was littered with mud chunks and food and it was not just limited to around the tables. The walls near each table had crusted splattered food, sauce, you name it and the ceiling fan had a thick coat of dust and grime along with a nice solid spider web to match. Paint was chipping on walls and door jams. The service was awfully slow, one guy on the floor and two in the back. Staff was splitting time between restaurant and bar. The food is decent if you stick to the basics-hamburger, onion rings, etc. Bar that is attached looks fun and had live music. More people were in the bar than in the restaurant. The restaurant has a great looking patio that was obviously closed due to weather. Great mountain views from inside but hard to see due to table configuration. We kept thinking how fun this place would be in the summer and may be back then to see if they have cleaned the place up and sit on the patio to enjoy the beautiful mountain views.

Riverpond Campground

Reviewed By CavemanHHH - Placitas, New Mexico

Ok the RV/camper area was nice enough. The tent area was dirt & brush. May be because it was in September. The brush does allow for more privacy between camping spots. The creek runs right behind the camping area. The area we chose was maybe 50 yards away. Animals in the brush at night gets you close to nature, but nothing bothered us. Bathroom was a portable toilet with no showers or hand washing area. Town was close, but not really walking distance. Honor system in place when we arrived, due to attendant being out. It is very cheap to stay here in a tent, so I still recommend it if your passing through.
