The outdoor walkways make this shopping Mecca feel less like a mall and more like a market. Though it bills itself as a discount outlet center, the best deals are not always obvious. Plan to take your time and spend a day shopping, unless you have a particular item or store in mind. And, be patient in the parking lot!

Great drive in movie place. We paid $7 for an adult ticket and got to see two brand new movies (Ghostbusters & The Shallows), great value. The only complaint I have is during the first movie (Ghostbusters) there was two-three blue lines that ran vertical on the screen, they weren't there during the second movie. The consession stand was good also.

Our son works for the company that furnishes food for the golfers and members at the Houston National Golf Club. He was able to get us some tickets to the match this past Saturday. We followed Phil around for a few holes and watched several other golfers. The weather was great and we walked over 13,000 steps. Great time had by all at a great place to watch and I am sure, to play, golf.

Went there for the Hummingbird celebration. It was well organized with lots of things to see and do. And since it was on county property - everything was free. The grounds were lovely. Had not realized the best entrance was at Draper Road off Mueshke Road rather than the entrance on FM 2920.

Bud Hadfield Park

Reviewed By mainemountainbear - Texas Gulf Coast, Texas

This both shaded and grassy 54.52-acre (22.06 ha) park had 1.8 miles (2.9 km) of natural-surface nature trail. Entrance was free. The park’s terrain was a bit hilly, but the trail itself had easy grades and presented only moderate elevation changes. It was a pleasant walk, but not always as scenic as I’d hoped. The park’s main draw was an 18-hole disc golf course, which plays in about a 2.0-mile (3.2 km) circuit. For amenities, the park had one paved and gated parking lot, a golf course map, and three picnic tables. It had no playground, no restrooms, and no water fountains, so bring bug dope and whatever to drink. Be alert for poisonous snakes, particularly in the woods, and watch for eroding banks whenever walking beside the creek bed. I least liked the lack of restrooms. I most appreciated the absence of litter and the county’s commitment of open space to the game of disc golf.

Cypress Park

Reviewed By mainemountainbear - Texas Gulf Coast, Texas

This 165-acre (66.77 ha) park had 1.4 miles (2.25 km) of wide, paved trail that looped around two water detention ponds. A narrow bridge made possible both a shorter loop and a longer loop. The trail had easy grades and no big elevation changes. Free off-street parking was in one large, gated lot. The parking lot wasn’t full when I parked, but it did fill up fast. This park’s amenities included clean restrooms, 11 picnic tables, four shaded picnic tables, a playground and four swing sets for children, seven exercise stations along the trail, and a water fountain near the parking lot. Walkers, runners, dog-walkers, and bicyclists of almost all ages used the trail. There was almost no shade on the trail and no lights for after-dark trail use. As always, bring or wear bug dope and something to drink. I least liked the scarcity of shade all over the park and the litter on the pond banks. I most liked the option of taking a shorter trail loop or a longer one.

Telge Park

This was a great park for young families, judging by how many were there. It had gated, off-street parking in a small paved lot. It was a shaded, 111-acre (44.92 ha) public space with 0.75 miles (1.2 km) of well-marked, natural surface walking trail through woodlands and along Cypress Creek. The trail had easy grades and would be scenic if one enjoys seeing and exploring creek landscapes. A small playground, restrooms, and several sheltered picnic tables were among the park’s family-centered amenities. A historical marker described how the park had once been a homestead. If you plan to stay long, bring bug dope to fend off creek-side mosquito swarms – chances are you’ll need it! I least liked the minimal parking available for visitors. I most liked the historical marker and all the shade everywhere.

I love vintage items, garage sales, farmer's markets, etc, but I don't think that this place fits into those categories. It was a large facility, but it was mostly foreigners selling repetitive foreign items on tables. Millions of bottles of laundry detergent sitting out in the sun, imported vegetables that I didn't have a clue what they were, and junk shops of plastic toys that were being sold in every other shop. As for the people, no one was buying anything. It was mostly kids running amuck and men pulling coolers around while drinking beer. It appears that it is just a cheap amusement park for people to spend the day at for a mere $4 parking fee. On the positive side, I managed to get 3 handmade new hammocks for $30 each. Very cheap in comparison to what they cost in stores. The overall view would be that I have been once and I really don't have a need to ever go back.

Kickerillo-Mischer Preserve

Reviewed By mainemountainbear - Texas Gulf Coast, Texas

I took a late afternoon walk at this recently opened, gated, 81.8-acre (33.1 ha) preserve that surrounded the 40-acre (16.2 ha) Marshall Lake and land beside flood-prone Cypress Creek. Entrance was free. Parking was in one of four lots off Chasewood Park Drive. Another lot was off Cypresswood Drive and accessible across a park trail bridge. The preserve had 1.7 miles (2.7 km) of well marked, paved nature trail to walk, run, or bike. The trail was mostly flat and had easy grades. It had quarter-mile posts, four trailside hewn-log benches, and two dog litter posts. Trailside open areas were mowed. Litter was very rare.

Among the preserve’s amenities were a restroom building, eight picnic tables, four picnic area hewn-log benches, a water fountain near the picnic area, a launch ramp for kayaks and similarly small craft, and two docks. Its lake allowed bank-side fishing for bass and catfish, and several persons were out fishing. The preserve’s trail had many shaded areas, but it wasn’t particularly scenic. Bring bug dope and drinking water and be sure to watch for alligators (seriously!). On my visit, I least liked the lack of views of the lake from the trail. I most liked the paved trail and the wildlife on the lake.
