I hadn't read up on this church before visiting--just wandered in and was amazed by its relatively low-key beauty. Neither spectacular nor spartan, it has many fine details that reward the visitor. I'd say this church is the most impressive tourist attraction in this town.

Located on the former front of Champagne, the Marne 14-18 Interpretation Centre offers an original, interactive and humanist display of World War I : an approach which is at the same time educational, emotional and spectacular.See an original movie after the correspondence between three brothers in the front and their sister behind the lines.

The scale of human losses in Marne front is hard to comprehend. In Normandy landing 1944 Allies lost 4000-5000 soldiers. In Marne during 1914-18 half a million young soldiers were killed. In Suippes just beside the Marne front there has been opened a new museum, who tells the stories of individual soldiers who experienced the war. The display is very interactive and shows a war from a human point of view. One of the most touching show rooms is designed like a trench where you are part of a desperate attack. Machine guns are rattling, people are shouting and trying to get over No man's land and there are screens everywhere around and over you where you can follow the attack from document films and pictures. The attack ends with Apollinaire's powerful poem about war - he fought on Marne front. Around Suippes there are many war Cemeteries and you can drive to check the actual front beside the war monument of Navarin a few kilometres away. Nowadays there are just wheat fields undulating over No man's land where thousands and thousands young men were killed. Visit first the Marne 14-18 museum, then Cemeteries and the front near Navarin monument. Very touching experience.

This is one of three amajor churches in Chalons. From the outside it looks very interesting but like all the other churches in the town it wass locked on the day we tried to visit even though it was early afternoon.

This is a museum which exposes the elements of the old cloister that was torn down and half-buried, half-reused, and then dug up. It's interesting, but a very short visit - half an hour if you really look at everything.

This museum contains everything - from history to art to natural history. The tableaux are classified according to the various "schools", including the Italian, French and Flemish. In the same wing, there are sculptures from the Middle Age and the Renaissance, and the history of the technique of food preservation.
The other wing of the museum is a paradise for ornithologists and lepidopterologists, with what must surely be the biggest collection of stuffed birds and butterfly display. The same wing of the museum also houses a private collection donated to the museum.
In the end, it turned out to be a museum where one could easily pass a couple of hours in. The temporary exhibition on ground level at the moment displays the works of M. Jacques Degrandcourt, an architect involved in the Resistance during the WWII.
We did not find any information that was presented in other languages, so it's fair to assume that it is best enjoyed if you are a francophone.

If you would like to see the other face of Champagne, don’t forget to visit this House.
The owner’s philosophy about the wine making definitely different than the mainstream. It’s not just wine making, this is an obsession.
The character of these champagne is not “just champagne”, these are the “Grand Vin”. We can feel the terroir, the single vineyards, the lower than average crop yield.
Not for beginner wine taster!

This place is not what it is advertised as! Parrots are about as exotic as you get. The flowers were nothing to write home about. The whole place was tired dusty and overgrown with a slight smell of bird waste!! My 8 year old son asked why we had visited my answer was I wished we hadn't! Total ripoff.
