One of the largest waterfall in Cherrapunji region...however, it can be best viewed during monsoon season...as it is a natural spring...

The Laitlum grand canyon is a visual treat, one can see various shades of green for miles around, standing at the edge of the canyon. Spend a few hours sitting there, enjoying the wind and the solitude. One can also pack some food (and maybe some wine), bring along a mat, and enjoy a picnic watching the kids play in the meadows while one relaxes... Absolute bliss!! The road journey is tough, narrow broken dusty roads, but its well worth it. They are building some fences for safety of the tourists, but jn my view that is spoiling the view. Try the stairs which go downhill, with viewing platforms which allow one to soak in the beauty of this place. The food options available are pretty basic, though

Also referred to as Single Level Root bridge or Living Root Bridge. There is an approx 4-5min walk through a village and then some 50 steps down that you need to take - to get to the stream and reach the root bridge. There is a nominal ticket of rs20 or so for adults too. The bridge formed of interwined roots growing across the stream is a sight to look at and you get to walk over it once. They dont allow you to stand on the bridge for long - though u can take pics when u cross to the end. The return is over a manmade bamboo bridge. The place itself is nice - with a nice gushing stream (I guess rain fed, so seasonal variations maybe there) when you can take off shoes and step into as well. Can be covered in 30-40 minutes from car to car if u are in a rush... ! Its anyway very very close to the Mawlynnong (Cleanest village) place. So can be easily clubbed...

It requires some trekking to reach the caves. Very nice experience in the caves. Kids had fun. Had basic (local food) veg lunch at the parking’s restaurant.

A beautiful waterfall a few kms away from Shillong is a delight to our eyes. The actual Khasi name of this waterfall is "Ka Kshaid Lai Pateng Khohsiew" means 3-step waterfall. But the British found it difficult and they named it Elephant falls when they found a rocky ledge that resembled an Elephant. Though that ledge got destroyed in 1800s during an earthquake, the name is still there. Though all waterfalls of Meghalaya are magical but this one is so beautiful and the step like shape makes it even wonderful

Ward's Lake ????♂️ or Pollock's Lake ????♂️ is an artificial horse???? shoe shaped lake surrounded by the beautiful ???? garden in the middle of the city. The lake is named after the then Chief Commissioner ???? of Assam, Sir William Ward, who started the plan for the establishment of this lake. It was later on constructed in the year 1894 by Colonel Hopkins. One of the associated stories is that a Khasi prisoner develop the area around the Lake to change the monotony is his daily routine. This place is a favourite ???? destination of the locals as well as tourists⛹️ to take a walk and enjoy the beauty. You can also enjoy boating ????♀️ in the Lake if you wish to. The colourful bed of flowers is a sight which is not to be missed. It is said that the Lake is around 100 years ⏳old. Awesome experience and breathtaking views. The lush green and sun playing its majesty. The fall was high and we were lucky to see that high in December.
