We stopped here for lunch after visiting Ujue and Javier castle. We arrived at 2pm, and were the first ones there to get lunch (a few patrons were having a drink in the bar) however the restaurant soon filled up within 30 mins.We ordered the very reasonably priced menu of the day (11 euros from memory) and had a great gazpacho soup, followed by "secreto iberico" - the mysteriously titled secret pork! Which turned out to be a large slice of pork steak in garlic and butter - very nice! The menu also included desert and wine, and to our surprise we were presented with a full bottle of house wine.

We lunched at Mediaville after having tried for space and food at 4 other places. Mediaville is a little off the main path but right next to the culture centre. We had a lot of special wishes and each of them was promptly met through a very attentive service. Food (lunch menu) was excellent and our tables which were right at the street provided perfect intimacy during the quiet siesta period.

This is a rough and ready bar very much aimed at locals. If you want plush surroundings, then eat at the Parador. I dined on lamb chops and a dessert which were tasty. Restaurant did not open till 9 p.m. when we were there.

Dreadful! Walked into the bar and waited at least 5 mins to be served by a strange looking woman who was more interested in chatting to someone than serving us. She didn't even acknowledge us!! Eventually served us, no manners!! Never again. Do they know what customer service is? Felt like we were doing her a favour!
Comimos bastante bien. DestacarÃa el plato de chistorra por el cual volverÃamos. La ensalada para nuestro gusto quedo un poco aceitosa.

Corresponde al restaurante del Hotel Vinacua.
This was yet another inaccurate assessment by Lonely Planet. Vinacuaâs food was cooked in dirty oil and tasted so (also burnt on the outside but still cold in the middle!); salads were lifeless; service was care-less by the waitress and the condiments et al had to be sort by ourselves. Locals coupled with bikers could not have been noisier and prices were the highest we had experienced in Spain for a street bar. Stay away from Restaurant Vinacua.

We had lunch there twice. Both times the food was quite good and good value at 11 Euro including wine. Service was a bit slow on one occasion with a rather forgetful waitress. The view from the terrace was quite nice, though it was a bit too windy the first time.

Es el restaurante del Parador
What else should I add to describe this restaurant? They have a sufficient winelist with quite a number of regional wines, but predominantly sold by bottle or half-bottle, not glass-wise.For the half-board you have a wide choice of options out of the regular menu which makes it not worth to eat à -la-carte.Service is attentive and the quality of the food is excellent.

An intriguing entrance leads you into the converted stables of this small restaurant where, for 21 years Alfonso has served the divine food his wife prepares. The Michelin recognition is well deserved. We decided to try the degustation but the portion sizes were quite substantial and delightfully described. Alfonso chose a local wine for us and we were not disappointed. The evening was quiet but we had made our booking in advance and so walked from our accommodation at the local Parador, chose our table and began an evening of indulgence. There was no rush, time for informative chats between courses, good wine and truly superb food. We have eaten at many Michelin mentioned/star restaurants and we would say that the food we ate here, was absolutely amongst the best we have tasted. The setting was cosy, the courses offered us different textures and flavours, the hosts were wonderful and we felt truly spoiled. A wonderful night of fine food in a marvellously atmospheric restaurant.
