How can you re-invent the best? Yet there are restaurants that try to do just that. Italian food does not need reinvention but perfection! Buca does that in food, setting and service. Classic local cuisine in a setting that is conducive to dining with a staff that is ready when you are and is secure enough to leave you alone. Menu del Biordo will not disappoint. My only regret this time around was it was not favorable to eat outside.

This is a real must of you're in the mood for food. We had a great feed which was clearly made with passion. The service was friendly and helpful. Knowing Italian would be advisable but not mandatory. The food was well presented and hit all the important notes. The location is great and the view perfect.

Enoteca Properzio 2 is set in a very specific context, specifically in a place dating in 1550, part of the famous palazzo dei Canonici , next to the Cathedral of Santa Maria Maggiore in Spello. Legend says that here Pinturicchio lived and worked in this e
The food is good in this place. The refreshing terrace is fine to rest. The owner however likes touching the women entering the shop. Not appropriate !

My friend and I had been recommended this restaurant. Itâs a little âhole in the wallâ restaurant with stone walls and only a short walk from San Francesco Bascilica. The waiter was very friendly and informative. He took the time to explain and translate the menu and help us to choose our food. We actually wanted a light meal as we werenât that hungry. However we ordered more food than we wanted and actually ate every mouthful as the food was so delicious. The burrata mozzarella with a rocket pesto was delicious and refreshing. We had the grilled lamb which was succulent and cooked to perfection as was the creamy pepper steak. We also ordered a side of spinach. We shared the semifreddo and it was a perfect way to finish the meal. We have become quite accustomed to finishing our meal with a digestive during our trip to Italy and we enjoyed a nice local one. We also loved the Vermintino white wine recommended by the waiter. Our waiter made the meal all the more enjoyable as he was attentive, knowledgeable and full of Italian charm.I highly recommend this restaurant when visiting Assisi. Definitely the best meal we had in Assisi!

Located in one of the narrow streets of Assisi, just 50 meters from Piazza Santa Chiara. The restaurant offers friendly environment and family atmosphere. The traditional Umbrian dishes are prepared using only fresh and local products.Outside seating
Opposite the church of Santa Chiara, one must go up some stairs before they get a glimpse of this gem. A medieval home converted to a wonderful restaurant offering the best pasta in town. Service was impeccable.& reasonably priced. Highly recommend it! Will definitely return!

What a fabulous restaurant. After walking through the woods, it was such a lovely surprise to find such an authentic Umbrian building and the meal was delicious. I loved the open fire with the food cooking on it. The meal set us up for the walk back up!

This was our second restaurant in Assisi in the Umbria region. Given the reputation of this region for sausages and alike, we tried the âantipasto mistoâ mixes cured salami e cheese: just delicious and unique as they are from this region. The first course , tagliatelle with tartufo was excellent as well as the desserts. Last but not least the staff was super

we were driving east across the mountains and wanted a place for lunch - saw the reviews and tried it. No menu just sit down and you get what is on the lunch menu - ricotta, raw sausage, salad, pasta, dish of lentils... we had to stop before meat course - could not manage it! Everything including wine for two of us was 20⬠each. Nothing fancy - and it really is easy to miss but the map in tripadvisor is actually correct.

La Cantina tries to reproduce the food of ancient Umbria - cucina povera, that is, the cuisine of the poor which is actually at the heart of much of the most inventive Italian cooking outside the big urban centres. You eat in a huge wine cellar (literally a cantina), surrounded by vast wooden wine barrels. Definitely start with the assagi di legumi - several different dishes of beans, lentils, ceci, cicerchie, farro and other Umbrian specialities. Among the primi go for the bigoli. For secondi there are the usual rural meat dishes, several cooked over ash from the roaring open fire, but also interesting cooked cheese dishes for vegetarians. Virtually everything you will eat and drink, apart from the coffee, will have been grown or killed on the restaurant's territory. An experience rather than a meal.
