Palawud Resto Grill and Bar

My sister invited me for a dinner with her family and my brother's family too. They had been here before so I told myself this can be good, since my brother-in-law is so picky when it comes to food.Place: close to the sea port of Bacolod City. Maybe it can be a wharf as well. It is ckose to the old port or wharf of the city.Food: Seafoods are freshly cooked. They also have pork, beef and others. But I prefer seafood and will highly recommend a seafood.Price: $$-$$$Now the conusing part is that in there website, it says that they are open from 11Am to 12Pm. It meas that they are open from 11AM until 12 MN, they could have interchangeably thought that PM is the same as MN. Also they are close every thursday.Service: good and accommodatingOverall: i will be coming back for sure.

They have air condition area but not the whole place is air conditioned, so it's better to come at night so it's not too hot. Fried chicken with their special sauce and the roasted beef is the specialty here

Surely, one of the best places for seafood in Bacolod City. The place is really popular among locals and tourists. Excellent selection of grilled dishes as well as Filipino Food. The seafood selection is also great.

Lantaw

A big restaurant close to the sea, Lantaw is a great discovery. We ordered baked scallops topped with lots of garlic. They were so juicy and tender. The calamari was okay. But the crab cooked in butter and garlic was phenomenal: I could have finished the sauce by serving it over rice but that wouldn’t be so healthy (lol). Great seafood place, for sure.

We actually went here twice in 2 days. So it's quite remarkable that they managed to make mistakes on the bills both times and they are one of only two restaurants in Dumaguete that I'm aware of that have a Service Charge (5%).You may think (depending where you come from) that 5% SC is reasonable. But the SC we paid for one meal would almost pay one waiters salary and does it actually go to the staff? On the first occasion we had ordered kinilaw (raw spicy fish with salad), it was only after we had left the restaurant that we realised we'd paid for it but never had it. partly our fault I guess. The second occasion, I scrutinised the bill and found Pinakbet there, which we had neither ordered nor eaten. After telling the waiter, we had to wait ages for the corrected bill. We have eaten there many times and it is not the first time there have been "mistakes" in the bill, always in the restaurants favour I have to say.As for the food, mostly it is fine and we do like the Bouillabaisse seafood soup with tomato and coconut base, as well as the Lumpiang Isda and steamed oysters. But prices (for Dumaguete) are not cheap and of course there is that SC.Hi KendalVisayas thank you for leaving a feedback and thank you for bringing this to our attention. We sincerely apologized for your this experience, we are always aiming for good service and good food. We would love to see you in the future and serve you. They have amazingly flavorful food. This restaurant is located in one of the side streets in the city. You will know you are near because the traffic slows down and you see a lot of pedestrians crossing the street (customers coming and going). Upon arrival, make sure you secure a table before you line up to chose your food otherwise they wouldn’t entertain you. While falling in line, you need to glance at the assortment of fresh seafood being offered and you need to mentally prepare your order. They accept 1/4 K as smallest order. Example 1/2 Kilo of squid cooked adobo style and another 1/2 kilo cooked sizzling, 1 kilo of shrimps cooked in garlic butter, 1 big slice of fish cooked sinigang style and another slice cooked with garlic, scallops, chicken ..... After ordering, they give you a number so the waiter bring to you your order once it is cooked. They have very fast service , at the table, you order for your rice and drinks. As I said they have very tasty food. I think part of the experience is the ambience. The restaurant is a hole in the wall and crudely made up of several levels with long tables and chairs next to each other. They have an airconditioned room but its always full so if you want to stay there you will have to wait for your turn. Actually the whole restaurant is always full. Its noisy because of the crowd. But then the ambience is part of the experience, and when the food is served, everything was well worth the wait.
