Pavones lies around 15 km south of Playa Zancudo and on the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. Around 400 km south of the capital city San Jose, the best way to get to Pavones is via Golfito, from where you can catch a cab to here. The restaurant is just south of Rio Clara along the coastline.

When we arrived we were welcomed by the owner. She chatted and showed us to a table while discussing the changes since our last visit. The decor is welcoming and the staff very accommodating. We enjoyed appetizers and a wonderful meal. All were exquisite. The lasagna was more than enough and the flavor will bring me, and others back for more. Thank you for the wonderful time and meal.

We loved this place. The food is beyond delicious, the smoothies are huge, fresh and also delicious. The owner Hadas and her husband are fantastic people, very welcoming. The rooms are lovely decorated and very clean. We felt so comfortable at this place and do highly recommend it!

Lapa Rios is an amazing place. Hard to get to (45 minutes by Land Cruiser from Port Jiminez) but well worth it. Ultra friendly staff, lots of wildlife to see (monkeys, toucans, macaws, frogs, interesting flora) and excellent food. Unless you are fit avoid cabins 12-17 as they entail a huge climb to the restaurant

This is a newly constructed restaurant in Pavones offering an eclectic and very tasty mix of Italian, seafood and Costa Rican dishes. Decor is pseudo-pirate themed, with carved seats and benches and maps inscribed on the tables. We have fantastic fish dishes, sorted salads, main courses from mediterranean and italian area and a lot of different snacks plates (tapas). The owners, Agnese and Daniel, are working hard and well to offer an alternative to the usual Tico fare at a remote location like this.open from Monday to Saturday from noon to 10 pm closed on October and November

Very lively atmosphere, it has the feel of a bar/dance place. With another Tequila, I could have danced on the tables. Because I was having such a good time, I can't exactly remember what I ordered. It was melt in your mouth and delicious fish. Probably caught that day on the Golfo Dulce. We sat at an outside table where the patio feels like it is surrounded by the jungle. The restaurant is just up a short drive off the main road and fortunately within walking distance of the place where we stayed.

Best tacos ever!!! Beef, chicken, or fish. Friendly owners and good location across from the beach. Menu options include breakfast, burritos, hamburgers and other items ... but tacos are so good I haven't tried anything else yet! Might be closed late afternoon, best to check with owners that day if thinking about going for dinner later.

For in relidad our business offers a restaurant , where we prepare the best dishes of the area whether traditional or foreigners , for dessert time we have the ice cream section where you can delight in many flavors in ice creams and desserts , of course it is noteworthy that we have rooms for rent service (A / C ) ( WIFI) ( TV)

Had breakfast here every day of my one week stay : good prices and a plus is they accept CC - not very common in Pavones and I was running out of cash. I slept in their cabinas which was great value for a 2 person room with A/C about 200 meters from the beach

Menu offers many choices (seafood, meat, burgers, pizza, vegetarian) and cold beer is served. Pizza is very well prepared with generous toppings. Casado plate had choice of french fries or patacones and was excellent (also large portions, very satisfying). Other diners were very happy with their lobster and fish dishes, and of course the ceviche! Good location next to the river and bridge (easy walk from town). Dining area is roomy enough to accommodate large group and still let every diner have their privacy. Clean with festive lights at night add to a pleasant atmosphere. Look forward to returning.
