Nothing fancy--in fact it used to be a Baker's Square followed by a failed IHOP. This is a place you'll feel compfortable in sweatpants and no shower (that day anyway;-). Usually one bartender and a few servers, so perhaps a short wait, but all the bar food is state-fair style. Hand cut fries, burgers fresh not frozen, and for most hours of the day (lunch, happy hour, and late night), a burger basket is only $5. The have ski-ball and trivia on certain nights. My favorite neighborhood hole.

We went here for the first time following a baseball game. We were seated right away and the service was good. We ordered potato leek soup and an appetizer. The soup not only didn’t have any potatoes but never saw a leek either! Basically what we got was a white sauce with no flavor. Most disappointing, especially since it was the soup of the day. We also ordered their bacon tots which were really tasty and hot. When we got the bill there is an extra 3% added on to “cover their employee benefits”, or close to that wording. Across the street at a different restaurant you don’t see that extra 3%. Ok place, probably will not go back.

Visited at the end of a long bookselling conference and had SUCH a delightful dinner. Beer was great, the special martini unusual and delightful, and our food choices were stellar. We tried lots of things: vegetarian sandwich, veggie side dishes - cauliflower and brussels sprouts were amazing, vegetarian pasta, bone marrow appetizer, buffalo wings, and shrimp tacos. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

This is a nondescript corner of a strip mall on Central Avenue. It looks like not-too-amazing, but then you get inside! Friendly welcoming place, menu is about 8 pages with all sorts of opportunities for meat and some veggie classics, such as fajitas, beans and rice, veg burritos. They have a full bar, the drinks are big. The 9 y.o. girl was with us and the waitress changed the TV from brutal bare knuckle punching channel to animal rescue channel. I was surprised at how much larger it is than it looks like from the front. It was pretty empty when we were there, maybe 20 customers, but the back could accommodate close to 150-200 people in the back (obviously plan ahead with the manager there if you were going to throw a huge party there) . Bathrooms were all new and fully accessible, place for nursing too.

A great neighborhood bar that serves Lobster rolls, lamb and more

This is a strange little corner bar, with a small interior area with an outdoor patio - partially shaded with a large awning. It has a lovely Captain Morgan statue outside...Beer selection is OK, a little heavy on the national brands - it could really use a better selection of local craft beers. The kitchen is a Smack Shack location - complete with a variety of lobster and other seafood themed eats - lobster mac and cheese, lobster poutine (needed more gravy, but otherwise excellent). Food prices are pretty steep, but portions are huge - go and share !

Friday night in July three of us for outdoor food and drinks. We have been here a few times before and we enjoy the outdoor patio that allows dogs and has special treats for them.It wasn't overly busy but service was slower than usual. Tap Beer selection is pretty good, but I would like it if they would carry a few safe standard beers like Blue Moon.I wanted to try a sample of a beer but service was so slow, I knew it would take forever.I ordered pizza with Canadian bacon, regular bacon and mushrooms but when the pizza came out I was told they ran out of Canadian bacon so they cooked my pizza less one ingredient. I wish they would have given me the chance to make another choice. My wife had a great burger and salad. The pizza was still better than average. Since we have been here before and never disappointed, I'm giving Stanleys a pass, but they are so close to being really, really great rather than pretty good.Hello Jim,Thank you so much for the honest feedback. It sounds like there were so many easy opportunities to have been able to turn an average so-so experience into an amazing one. We definitely have a few kinks to work out with our new pizza concept, therefore every little ounce of feedback is crucial to being able to polish this new adventure of ours. (However, I must say..... who just omits a pizza topping without conveying that to the person who is going to eat it?..... Whaaaaaat?... (she say's shaking her head in disbelief : )As for the slower level of service you experienced, this is perfect example of letting the new Summer rookies know that we are always here to help them and there is no shame in asking for a hand. I sincerely apologize. I will use this review as a training tool, and for that I would love to get you back into our little Northeast Gem and WOW you like we "normally" do. If you are so inclined, please email me at [email protected] so I can begin to repair this new relationship of ours : )A thousand thank you's for your time,Kelli HollowayGM

This is the first time at the restaurant. Went there with our daughter and her friend. The fish and breading were outstanding and the fries were equally as good. The only thing that didn't make the grade was the coleslaw. Not my idea of coleslaw.
