Judging by this restaurant's ranking on the Tripadvisor site (today # 109 of 298 restaurants in Katowice), this easily the most underrated restaurant in Katowice. But don't be fooled by the rating; it's excellent and the low rating is only because of the low number of reviews so far.This nice little restaurant, brand new and located close to the parliament building, has a relatively small menu. It's only in Polish, but the very attentive staff will happily translate into English. I had lunch here on a Saturday and dinner on a Wednesday. In both cases: soup was de-li-cious. Main course (I had fish of the day on Saturday and deer on Wednesday) was excellent. Juice was freshly squeezed and equally superb.What else to praise this restaurant for? Well, all ingredients are fresh to start with, and the food is prepared with care and attention. The cuisine could be called 'modern Polish'. So yes, Polish food but lighter, more elegant, and more balanced. Prices are very modest compared to restaurants on the other side of the railway, where most tourists and business travellers will go. Even though if it's only a short walk away. You can bet I will come again.

Had a burger and a milk shake at the City Rock Cafe, sat outside on a lovely shaded patio area and watched the world go by. Burger was very good, milk shake also very good, service was excellent. Lots of laughter on a lovely sunny day, everyone seemed to be having a good time.

The pizza is great. The lasagne very good. Actually most of what we tried was tasty. Nice atmosphere. Worth recommendation. Book in advance during weekend lunch or dinner time.

Iâve been visiting the place almost every day while I was participating Climate Change Conference. Itâs perfect for breakfast- coffee âï¸ is excellent and I have had very tasty and healthy meals! Everything was fresh and nicely served. There was no problem to communicate in English and I felt very comfortable there. I highly recommend the place for those who are vegetarian and the ones who are meat lovers. You can choose what suits you the best!

Villa Gardena was recommended by a local foodie as one of the best restaurants albeit on the pricey side. And the stylish, spotless interior could emphasise both statements.The starter of scallops was excellent with a terrific mix of contrasting flavours. The main dish of zander was a bit dry-ish, but OK overall. The dessert of chocolate was fine.Service was friendly, but wine was refilled without asking. And the apparently (very expensive) 'vodka-on-the-house' was charged. Thus, the bill came close to 350 PLN (80 EUR) a head.Two points off for the rather seedy practice.Sir.Thank You so much for your visiting to Villa Gardena.I'm sorry for such an uncomfortable situation and a disagreement in the communication of the ordered drinks.I hope next time we will be able to compensate this issue situation.With apology.Best regards.

We were given 15% off cards at our hotel for this restaurant, and approached it with trepidation. But as soon as we got near, we took to the place. It is unassuming inside, but tasteful, and the service was excellent. They have a decent wine list, and although the menu is not huge, everything we had was wonderfully prepared, and one of our vegetarian friends was over the moon. They do not hurry their preparation (I think I saw a sign declaring allegiance to the "Slow Food" movement somewhere on the premises) but the wait is worth it. Highly recommended, and extremely reasonably priced!
