Perfect stay in Hermosa Beach
Reviewed By Leslie BWe just stayed at this hotel for the second time. We love the rooms, which are a great size. We have stayed both times in a partial ocean view room and it was just the right view without being right on the boardwalk with the possibility of it being too loud from people. The staff are top notch, from the front desk, to the very personable valet staff and even the engineer. We had an issue with the television remotes not working well. The engineer took his time to fix the issue. The hotel is right near the pier and many restaurants and bars. The room rate offers continental breakfast which was perfect for a light meal. You can eat outside watching the waves or in your room. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it!!!

The room was immaculate and the bed was the best bed I’ve ever slept on! I had a city view but it was still a beautiful view! The staff were all super friendly and polite! I would def stay here again. Two thumbs up for sure! If I had more thumbs they would be up too!!

Each room features an iron/ironing board, hair dryer, refrigerator, coffeemaker and cable with HBO, while more than half of our rooms have a balcony. The Hampton Inn & Suites Hermosa Beach hotel in California has a sun deck on the fourth floor overlooking the city and ocean, and serves a full continental breakfast with hot items. The hotel is within walking distance to the Pier, restaurants, clubs and beach. We are also only five minutes from the Galleria Mall and five miles from Los Angeles International Airport. Reviewed By Tom BGiving this five stars as it was better than I expected. I knew we would be far from the beach, but got an ocean view room anyway. Pleasantly surprised by how much of the water we could see, and on the fourth floor was not as noisy as I feared. With door and windows closed, could barely hear the PCH. Bed was comfortable, A/C worked well (though a tad loud), and fridge kept drinks cold. The included breakfast was simple but had enough variety, and there was enough seating. Though the first morning there was a group that had already finished eating when we arrived, and were still there when we left. Being right on PCH, access in and out of the parking lot needs to be approached with caution. Parking was $15 a day but was under cover and secure. Nice sun desk for those rooms that did not have their own deck. Location great, grocery and drug store right across street. About a 20 minute walk to beach. Quite a few places to eat just a short walk away.

Poor service really lets this down
Reviewed By Jarvo81I really hate to give this review as I’m not a complainer at all but the staff give me no alternative. Communication with the hotel was awful. I asked before arrival via email what the hotel could offer outside of the standard packages for my wife’s birthday after chasing on numerous occasions with no reply I finally got a standard response of the packages offered on the website to which I declined (they weren’t to her liking) upon arrival I was told there were items in the room to celebrate (these weren’t agreed) when advised I hadn’t agreed to anything they said leave them to one side and we will refund you. We did this and I have since requested the refund 3 times via email (I can’t call as we are in the UK) and have received no response. Service and communication is poor which is unfortunate for such a beautiful hotel. Management clearly do not care about their standard of service!

Fine Details that Make the Difference
Reviewed By LjcarmanolsonIt feels like luxury when you're not expecting the finer details, but they are waiting for you at H2O Hermosa. We came because it's a block from the beach and near wonderful restaurants and the pier. When we arrived, we were greeted with fluffy robes and real wood hangers to hang up our clothes. We drank coffee in the room with real mugs, not plastic wrapped paper cups. The mini-bar was stocked with beverages and the wine glasses were glass and stemmed. Unheard of in L.A., parking was easy, covered and free. The staff was welcoming and I enjoyed the bit of work I did on the rooftop deck.

Perfect Holiday Accommodation
Reviewed By Mary Jo SFor the first time in two years (due to Covid travel restrictions) we were able to spend Christmas and New Years with our family in Hermosa Beach. The Holiday Inn Express & Suites was the perfect hotel choice for us! It was located less than a mile from our daughter and her family and just a few blocks from ocean front and the Pier, less than thirty minutes from LAX, on the Pacific Coast Highway. Due to our extended stay, we spoke with Raven Charitra, Sales Manager, regarding our reservation and then worked with Danial at the Front Desk, who was extremely patient in answering our many questions. Fred was also very accommodating in answering questions and handing out face masks when we forgot ours and Carlos did a great job on the night shift! The hotel includes breakfast, beautifully handled by George and Delmi. It also offers free parking. Our grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed visiting us at the hotel and being able to use the pool. Needless to say, we already look forward to our next visit and staying here again!

Has its own parking garage which is a big plus due to the challenging parking conditions in the immediate area. Room was large and serviced each day. Just a block from the pier and beach. Multiple eating and entertainment establishments near the pier and along Hermosa Ave; all within easy walking distance from the hotel.

Great Location but Save Your Money
Reviewed By hayleeejThe only good thing about this motel is the location. We requested a room with a queen bed and fold out sofa. When we arrived we folded out the sofa bed and found the sheets were filthy- crumbs and food all through the sheets and also covered in what looked like blood and human bodily fluids. Our friend travelling had to sleep on the dirty floor as she refused to sleep in the blood soaked and stained sheets. It was completely untenable and when we complained to the staff we got “oh well, you pre paid and I can’t do anything.” - except give back our $10 parking fee. No care from staff, filthy bedding. Hermosa Beach is a gorgeous area, don’t ruin it by staying here.

Friendly and prime location
Reviewed By annafP5159EKWe loved our stay at surf city hostel! The hostel is located in a very fun and safe area. Lots of restaurants and bars as well as beach access less than 2 mins away. The hostel itself is small but this means you immediately feel welcomed into the community. Roger allowed us to use the laundry facilities even though it was inconvenient timing for the staff. Everyone was very nice which makes sense because everyone we met was volunteering at the hostel… this meant that it was very clean since they spent all day cleaning… the luggage storage seemed a bit dodgy and was often left unlocked. Overall this was a good stay and very good value for your money. Favourite place we’ve stayed in LA so far compared to 2 other chain hostels we stayed in.
