Named one of the best small towns in America, Easton, Maryland is a haven of quiet streets and quirky festivals. First settled in the 17th century, Easton has remained an active community since Colonial times. The Third Haven Meeting House, built in 1682 by the local Quakers, is still used for Sunday meetings to this day. Visit during the annual Waterfowl Festival, when residents deck their historic homes with green boughs, and local artists pay tribute to the Canadian Geese flying overhead.

We rented a couple of bikes for the afternoon. They outfitted us with very nice hybrid bikes, spent a few minutes going over a map to give us several route choices, made sure the bikes were adjusted correctly and threw in a couple bottles of water. We chose one of the scenic routes taking us out to the Oxford, had lunch at a little place they recommended, with a ferry ride to Bellevue and then back to Easton. They made the whole experience very easy for us.
