How about a nice walk for your morning exercise? The walk will take you on an easy dirt track, through pretty pine forest, with fabulous views over the Adriatic Sea, from Makarska Harbour to Tucepi. If you take the same way back it’ll take you about 1 hour each way. We brought 1 liter water each and drank everything. We wore sandals, but trainers or walking shoes would also do fine. Starting point is in the south (or left) end of the harbour. Here you’ll see some steps by one of the last hotels before the little beach. Climb the stairs and soon you’ll see the first sign to Tucepi. The easiest track is also the biggest one. There are signs to Tucepi all the way. In the end you will walk close to the Adriatic Coastal Highway, and all of sudden the dirt road stops - now there is a tarmac road and a parking lot. Now you can choose to walk back or ... we chose to go to the beach front and have a cup of coffee (double espresso, of course) before returning. The easiest way to Tucepi beach front is a very unofficial one, an almost invisible narrow dirt track, that runs opposite the parking lot downwards towards the sea side. On your way back to Makarska you can choose to to do some Nordic walk gymnastics as some signs suggest. Or you can turn left where a sign leads to ‘Beach Plaza’. It’s Nugal Beach, a pretty little beach where you don’t need to wear clothes. Come on, try - it’s fun! Have a nice walk!
