My first time to the Lakewood Cultural Center for a performance by the Colorado Wind Ensemble and Boston Brass. Good parking, easy access, very friendly staff and a cute theater with no bad seats! I recommend going to performances there.

William F. Hayden Green Mountain Park

Reviewed By travelrvo - Myrtle Beach, United States

This was a nice easy area to hike. There were a lot of open roads so there was room to accommodate hikers and bikers both. It was only about 20 minutes from downtown and was easy to get to. The trails were easy to navigate with google maps, so there was no chance to get lost. Lots of different trails and the trails extend down the other side of the mountain and connect with other mountains if you wanted to make this into a long hike. The views at the top were great and you could see many other mountains as well as downtown Denver. Definitely worth going!

The garden here which is all low water plants is really special. In May, I fell in love with the bountiful flowers, I never new Xeric gardening could be so lovely. In hot sun, there is a whole new range of plants. Fun to walk around the lake and the garden. Great for the fit and those with walkers as well.

Beautiful lake and Park with views of the wildlife preserve and the mountains. There are always animals to see as you walk the lake trail: turtles, frogs, snakes, coyotes, birds galore.

I make walking here a regular part of my routine I always see beautiful birds and the gorgeous water of Bear Creek. The trees and creek keep it cooler than the open spaces. You often see gorgeous flowers and other animals here as well. Highly recommend for exercise and a good time in nature with the family. Remember the rules of the trail when you go!

Colorado Mills

Colorado Mills is actually a great place for shopping. It is easy to get to from Denver - just a 30 minute busride West. Has a ton of stores including some mainstream ones, Target etc. One can find stores such as Dream Dress, Earthbound Trading Co, FT Casuals, Le Cruset Cookingware, The Mall itself is situated in the shade of the Rockies and the view of the mountains from the carpark is fabulous! There are also a number of cool resutaurants around e.g. Twin Peaks, Olive Garden, The Keg etc. Across the highway are a number of other great home improvement stores and a movie theatre. There is also an Office Max. I only really discovered this mall on my last visit. Will definitely return here next time I am in the area!
