The food is outstanding. We ate here 10 years ago and really looked forward to returning. Wish we had known you could stay here, as well. The service is superb even though they were very busy. They handle the crowds with professionalism and style. Great ambience and location!

Although this review is titled under a restaurant it is also a hotel with the added benefit of a micro brewery next door which also belongs to the hotel and restaurant, the food served is great, very good quality and plentiful, the beer served is fantastic the service and welcome you receive is exemplary . The business is still owned and run by the forth generation of Schneider family who are moor than happy to sit down and give you a history lesson all about Essing and the surrounding area. The walk up to the lookout tower at Randeck is really nice but not for the feint hearted, you can take the easy option and drive up, if you opt to go to the top of the watch tower the views are amazing even if it is a little bottom clenching for those of you who don't really like heights.

Wir haben hier auf der Durchreise über die A93 einen Zwischenstopp zum Abendessen eingelegt und wurden positiv überrascht. Das Ambiente mit dem offenen Grill war gemütlich, die Bedienung freundlich und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis sehr attraktiv. Die Portionen sind (typisch niederbayrisch) groÃzügig. Das Schnitzel war etwas trocken.Ausreichend Parkplätze direkt vorm Haus.Die rustikalen Toiletten könnten mal wieder eine "Aufhübschung" vertragen.

Very nice cozy restaurant in the tower of the city of Abensberg. Top terrace with view of the town. Very kind personnel, excellent food.To recommend: grilled turbot, delicious to the end! and a reservation (the place is tiny).Average prices for a good restaurant.

Situated direct in the middle of this old Bavarian town. We visited during the asparagus season, which is farmed all around Abensberg. Naturally we both selected the asparagus, with local ham and new potatoes, but there is a well planned menu for every taste, and don't forget the local beer.If you like traditional food and atmosphere, the Zum Kuchlbauer is for you.

Also man sitzt ganz nett im Freien am Stadtplatz, das wars dann aber mit den positiven Eindrücken. Das Studium der Speisekarte gibt bereits erste Hinweise, Kreativität Fehlanzeige aber es muss ja nicht immer Gourmetküche sein auch bodenständige, sogenannte gutbürgerliche Küche kann sehr zufriedenstellend sein. Um das Risiko der Enttäuschung gering zu halten bestellte ich Leberspätzlesuppe und ein Wiener Schnitzel vom Kalb. Die Suppe war ok nichts besonderes aber ok. Furchtbar wurde es dann beim Wienerschnitzel mit Bratkartoffeln. War es schlechtes Fett oder war es altes Fett auf jeden Fall dominierte der Fettgeschmack den Gesamtgeschmack des Gerichts. Die Bratkartoffeln fetttriefend und verbrannt. Das Schnitzel, ich hab nur 2 Bissen probiert, der Geschmack nach alten Fett war unerträglich.Mein Hinweis an die Bedienung man sollte in der Küche doch auch mal das Bratfett wechseln wurde auf die unfreundlichste Art abgebügelt. Meine Begleitung hatte Spargelsalat. Auch sie probierte nur wenige Bissen bevor sie auf das weiteres Essen verzichtete. Ich Frage mich wie es zu so guten Bewertungen kommen kann bei so bodenloser Qualität.

Staying in Bad Goegging means eat at Il Tartofo. As a long term resident of the Marc Aurel, I visit Angelo almost every week. His small restaurant is always full with people. With his small (Italian) staff he delivers excellent food (very good Pizza) and Angelo is always friendly. My advise is to come early (18:30) otherwise there are no places left or make a reservation. The prices are very moderate. Pizza, Small Salad with Tune Fish and 1/4L Chianti for 16 eur.
