Went today for a coffee only to be charged 2.75 for a espresso, this is an extortionate amount, if a coffee is this expensive I am concerned as to what the food costs,equally unfriendly management minus stars on this occasionDear SirWe certainly value your feedback, thank you, however our prices are in line with with most coffee shops. We use freshly roasted, high quality beans from sustainable sources. The price quoted is for a Double Expresso as requested on your visit. We certainly did not wish to come across unfriendly and it was a shame that you did not stay to try our coffee or food due to reasons you stated. We understand and appreciate that you were looking for a lower priced coffee and accept that on this occasion we were not for you. Please bear in mind that as a small independent business, there are lots of other costs involved other than the provision of our fresh, high quality ingredients prepared to order by a skilled and experienced team. This restaurant is open to the public and an excellent place to have breakfast, lunch or dinner or just a drink and piece of cake. We visited with family and found happy and friendly staff to greet us and excellent customer service. The restaurant was clean and tidy and the food delicious. We were able to order alcoholic drinks and everything was served in acceptable time. The food was locally sourced and cooked on the premises to order. The cakes were all homemade and irrisistable. After our meal we had coffee on the patio and watched the golfers playing and enjoying the sunshine and lovely views. This is definitely somewhere that I would recommend and will be returning very soon.

We booked a table at Sark as weâd tried previously and they had always been busy. Weâd heard great things about this restaurant and we were not disappointed. Dining at Sark is like being invited into the family dinner, the staff are welcoming, the restaurant is cosy and the the food is fresh, full of traditional flavours and there is plenty of it. So much so we were able to bring some home for tomorrowâs lunch! You probably wouldnât need a started and a main course but if youâre going to go for it as our heading says donât eat all day. We will be back and rest assured we know you donât leave hungry!

We visited Friday evening all tables inside were used, we would have loved to sit outside which looked lovely but it wasnât warm enough but there are patio heaters. The lady serving us was very efficient and friendly, the pizzas are first class and I look forward to returning. I read that it is open Early July till late summer, so may need to try their Heybridge restaurant next time.Dear w6jed,Thank you for taking the time to review your experience with us, I m happy to hear you enjoyed your evening. I had a wonderful birthday celebration 31st August, including a boat ride from your private mooring. The food was exquisite, the service fantastic and attention to detail was second to none. I would definatley recommend eating here and will be back as soon as I can. Thank you.

We recently hired the private dining area to celebrate a Ruby Wedding anniversary. There were 24 of us in total and the space was perfect. We paid for decorations and a prosecco reception, both of which were very well done and created a lovely atmosphere. We had to pick food in advance but the menu was large and varied with dietary preferences catered for and all very good when it arrived. The service was exceptional - very attentive staff with an eye for sorting even the small details. Would definitely recommend.

First visit, but it won't be the last! First impressions: small and quaint. A nice welcome from the staff. Very clean cutlery, glasses and napkins (I notice these things). The menu is short, but with a range of dishes so everyone should find something to their taste. The service throughout was excellent, and the food was lovely. My impression is that Rubino's has decided to do a smaller number of dishes than some other restaurants, but do them very, very well, using local ingredients where possible. Even the coffee was first class, roasted by a small company "over the border" in Hertfordshire, and tasting as if it had been roasted that morning. I thoroughly recommend this little gem.
