This restaurant, like Urbino itself, deserves much greater patronage. The restaurant is in a beautiful location on a quiet street beneath the botanical garden. We had a wonderful outdoor dinner on a serene evening. I had the 3-course fish meal (tuna appetizer, shrimp linguine, and monkfish) which was totally fresh, innovative, and delicious. I could not believe that on a Friday midsummer evening there were only 2 other tables occupied.

Our dinner has begun in rather unpleasant way, as the restaurant has lost our reservation: moreover, at first they tried to convince me that no reservation has been made. Fortunately, after 20 minutes of waiting in the atrium we were honored to get our table and bad first impression vanished in the excellent smell of primi piatti...We were five people ordering very wide sort of dishes, from meat through sea food to vegetarian, which as I know is not easy to prepare simultaneously. Nevertheless each dish from starters through desserts was delicious, prepared in unique way and served exactly on time. Only one annoying thing: in less then 3 hours of our dinner we were attended to by 4 different waitresses, meanwhile tip went to the fifth one...Hello,first of all, thank you for your feedback, we are very interested on the opinions and the suggestions from our customers, to improve the quality of our cuisine and service. I'm very sorry for the misunderstanding with your reservation, I hope it won't happen again. However, especially during the summer season, the restaurant is very busy, and it may be happened that the reservation has been lost... (Sorry again) We are looking for a more immediate way to reserve a table on-line, by tripadvisor, and this is useful especially for tourists that do not speak italian. From this winter, it will be possible to reserve the table by clinking a button on tripadvisor, such that there will be a receipt that you have effectively reserved the table. Our waitresses have not pre-assigned tables, so, it may happen that the customers are served by different waitresses (I cannot see where is the problem). Regarding the tip, I can assure that every month our waitresses, dish-washer, barman, and chef subdivide their tip and they often have a dinner (in the closure day, monday) paid by the customer's tips... so they all thank you!Regarding the food and the dishes, the chef thanks you for your congratulations, it is very difficult to serve the tourists that want to taste many dishes at the same time and we know they are very curious of the italian food and dishes...I hope you enjoyed the dinner and I hope to see you soon... may be in a less busy dinner :DBest Regards! The Chef

I've been to this place several times and I have to say that the location is great and the restaurant very roomy. Food is very good and tasty, especially pizza with burrata and culatello, but prices are a bit highDear lucadambro, thanks for the nice comment. The food cost is, by in large, in line with organic food production, and for sure the pizza price is roughly 10 euro .. not so expensive.so please come back to try the new summer menu.kind regards

We found this special restaurant which only serves local biological produce. They have 2 menu options: basically a medium and large version for diner. Although you cannot eat "a la carte", they offer possible pasta dishes for children or youngsters. We opted for the large menu which comes at 25€ per person and includes water and half a litre of local wine.Once you sit down and made your choice, then hang on tight because in no time at all your table will be covered with plates with excellent antipasti. We were so overwhelmed that we lost count but there must have been about 6 or 7 different plates ranging from crostini, bruchetta to grilled vegetables, cured ham etc...Then came the pasta and the main course. Conclusion with a semifreddo as dessert. It was great !!!Between all the courses, do not forget to enjoy the view

Returning to our favourite holiday destination of Sant’Ippolito, we simply had to revisit this wonderful restaurant. It’s just as good as ever, a new set of dishes on offer à la carte, but just as tempting. In addition there’s a new set menu offering four courses with wine and water for just €28. What a bargain! And although there’s little choice, with every dish as delicious as the next this really isn’t a problem. Service is spot-on, lovely atmosphere inside and out in pleasant grounds among the olive trees, and exquisite food that bows to tradition, but goes beyond to give the odd surprise.grazie mille

I was traveling around Italy and I came across this beautiful restaurant with an amazing garden. I found out that there is a new management and they a great family. They serve Argentinean meat that is great.I was soooo surprised to see on the menu the typical Argentinean Empanada. So obviously I ordered it and it was AMAZING!!!! It really took me home.As well we shared a huge antipasto plate with local salamis, prosciutto and cheeses. For Main course we had the Tagliatta that is an Argentinean Rib Eye perfectly grilled with a side of rocket salad, cherry tomatoes and shaves of granna padano. And we ordered their best seller pasta dish; meat tortellinis with a zucchini cream that it blew my mind!! I think I have never had such a good pasta dish.Of course for dessert we shared a Tiramisu, we couldn't have ordered a different dessert, and we were definitely NOT disappointed!!!Once again, the family that runs the restaurant is really great and very attentive!!!If you are around, Sant'ippolito, Fossombrone or Fano you cannot miss this place!!!

I got raw fish mix as starter and ravioli with shrimps in Normandy butter sauce. Dessert and liquor has been offered. Advised alone, for a couple or a group of friends!

The secret to the success of this family-owned business is largely due to chef and owner, Lorenzo Pazzaglia’s enthusiasm for authenticity and his generosity in his approach to food. A 14-page menu offers dozens of varieties of fresh and savory recipes for pastas, pizzas, risottos, and insaladas that inspire and satiate the hungriest of patrons. First-time customers and regulars eat family style, sharing culinary creations bursting with native flavors. The waiters are kind, gracious and friendly (and Lorenzo will be among them – you will find no greater host!). The reasonable prices, lavish servings and incredible flavors ensure return customers. Note: If you wish to secure a table for dinner on a weekend, it is best to call ahead for reservations. The name Poggio translates to “hill.” Located above the city of Cagli, bordered by a row of large shading trees, Il Poggio stands in stark white against the blue sky. The furnishings are simple and casual. The restaurant seems to beckon to customers to come in, have a seat and be among friends. One of the most famous items on the menu is Spaghetti alla Carbonara, a creamy dish of pasta, cheese, eggs, pancetta (bacon), and black pepper. If you don’t experience this specialty of the house plus the Carbonara Tartufo, you are missing out on one of the most incredible flavor sensations of your life.In addition to the savory pastas, Il Poggio is known for departing from traditional Italian cuisine and celebrating the passion that Lorenzo has for spice—exceptionally hot spice. Lorenzo cultivates and imports more than a hundred hot chili peppers from around the world to incorporate into his menu. Some are served fresh, others dried and ground. The most potent are simmered and reduced to a frightening intensity.Scaldingly hot peppers including Naga Viper, Trinidad Scorpion, Bhut Jolokia (ghost pepper) and Smokin Ed’s Carolina Reaper can be added to a special selection of pizzas and pastas to challenge the bravest of diners to a sweltering contest of wills. Customers who successfully attempt to consume the “world’s hottest pizza” at Il Poggio not only gain bragging rights, they also receive a commemorative T-shirt and what is certain to be a raging case of indigestion. Rustic rosemary bread is drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with rock salt. Mushrooms saute in olive oil. Lush ripe melon is cut into slices and set aside on a tray filled with prosciutto. Delightful aromas of butter, cheese, and truffles fill the air. Just as art is an expression of an artist, cooking reveals the personality of the chef. At Il Poggio, Lorenzo Pazzaglia reveals his passion, imagination, and generous spirit. He creates meals that not only nourish the body, they nourish the soul – one overflowing plate at a time.thanks a lot and a nice read what you wrote for us super likeable photographer you and all your friends -Friends and always a pleasure to have you as a customer but mostly as friends thank Lorenzo and all the staff of poggio
