Liberty Burger

Our group of four topped in on a Monday, early evening for dinner. It is located pretty close to the town square by many other restaurants and shops. We were seated right away although service throughout our experience was a little slow. The restaurant was clean with table seating.I had the Nooner burger which had egg, hash brown, bacon, and ham. My wife had the Shroom which had a big onion ring on it. Both were excellent. We saw the size of an order of fries at a table beside us, so knew to order just one to split between us. Sides were extra. Prices were reasonable ($11 and $12 burgers.)Would definitely eat here again.

My wife and I joined two other couples for lunch at the North Grill in Jackson, WY on 9/22. The North Grille is located at the Jackson Hole Golf and Tennis facility. The restaurant includes a bar, an indoor and outdoor (summer) seating area, and an incredible view of the Tetons. We ate there years ago and remembered the spectacular vistas from the dining area. Our food, drinks, and service were great. We were again treated to the great views of the Tetons while enjoying our lunch and drinks. The restaurant added a 18% tip to our bill which we found was a common practice in Jackson, Wyoming.Thank you Robert for joining us and thank you so much for your wonderful review. We hope to have you and your family dine with us again soon. Maybe inquire about our Farm to Table Dinner series offered throughout the summer of 2019!

Went to this restaurant after checking into our room for a quick bite. The restaurant had maybe 5 other customers and what I would expect to be a quick turn around for 2 burgers, 1 chicken sandwich and a flat bread, didn’t happen. The service was slow and then to top it off, I never received my meal. Upon receiving our food, I noticed that my burger and my son’s burger have the toppings mixed up. The manager offered to make it right (he’s the one who brought out our food) and I was like no big deal and we swapped the burgers ourselves (I hate to make a fuss). My son picked off the onions. However once he started eating it, he couldn’t because it was too burnt. I swapped back with him and thought he was just being dramatic. After I tried to bite into it, I realized he wasn’t being dramatic. It wasn’t edible. We notified our server (from Bulgaria) to let her know that I’d like another one because it’s not edible. Twenty five minutes go by, without really any servers in the dining area (probably in the back doing end of shift things, as it was about to close in the next hour) and our server finally appears and ask if we wanted our check. We said yes but take my meal off, because we never got a replacement and it wasn’t edible. She brings the check, this is where it gets funny, and my meal is still on the check. I mentioned she was from Bulgaria so maybe there’s a language barrier, is what we are thinking, so my husband says we aren’t paying for it, she never got her meal. Her reply, we are making one for you to take with you. Lol, like that is a reasonable solution. I said I don’t want it, I didn’t get to eat with my family. I can’t believe she thought that this was a viable solution, a to go burger at cost. At this point, we ask to talk to the manager. (I’m assuming she didn’t want to involve him to remove it from our check). He comes over and at first no apology, so that didn’t make things better. After he took it off our check and came back, he did offer an apology and a 15% discount on our bill, so like $4 discount for our long wait and poor service.

Finally, a bison burger done right!Usually it’s quite dry and we’re told it because it’s naturally lean and better for one’s heart. But bison/American Buffalo is like beef: it depends on what cut is used and what blend of cuts as well. Exactly the right cuts of bison are served here and for optimal results. By the way, I have enjoyed bison steak in the past and observe one’s experience depends on how it’s prepared. This was the first bison burger I’ve truly enjoyed. In fact, it bested all but one out of 55 local, non fast food burgers I’ve sampled recently, almost all of them beef. It was juicy, nuanced, utterly complemented by its ingredients (candied bacon, truffles, arugula, roasted garlic aioli and my substitution of pepper jack cheese for the aged provolone it normally comes with) so that the final product is a masterpiece. House made fries with the skin on, seasoned with Parmesan, sea salt and herbs provided a delightful side. Everything was utterly perfect. While at $26 it was the most expensive of all I’ve tried so far with only nine restaurants that serve burgers left to sample in the entire region, it delivered masterfully. I fully expected to be disappointed mostly because of the perception that “buffalo” can’t compete with beef. Ascent got off to a poor first impression because, in the interest of fairness to all establishments, judging each burger on its own merits rather than house ambiance, I always order to go and was told this could not happen from the Ascent Lounge unless i ordered through room service who told me it would take 30 minutes. For a rare cooked burger? I decided to go in and reserved that annoyance as a potential mark against Ascent. All was forgotten as my burger arrived quickly, served up by a most congenial and professional bartender, along with unasked-for ketchup even though a burger of this caliber doesn’t need it; it was premium customer service in serving a most premium product, even if “merely a burger.” Not treated as substandard cuisine, as hoi polloi or only fit for the masses, it exists as a high water mark in the realm of bison burgers. Generally, while I believe a burger that needs bacon to bolster its impact is not allowing the ground meat to represent itself, the overall composition of this ensemble is all but unbeatable. The other menu offerings look wonderful though I have not sampled them. For me, this burger last week was simply spectacular. I hope you discover it.

We hiked from the base of the mountain to the top of the aerial tram, this was our midway stop for a break. I'm glad it was there and had bathrooms and drinks etc, with three kids it was a welcome break. And of course this is a place on a mountain so they can charge whatever they want, I was just pretty put off paying $5 a Gatorade and all the other inflated prices.

My aunt and uncle were in town and wanted to check out the Village. We stopped at the Moose for lunch and a beer. Marty was our server, he was very friendly and attentive. The weather was beautiful so we dined on the patio looking up at the Grand Tetons! A fun area and a trendy lunch spot with good food. We started with a savory Ramen Bowl. A tasty beef broth with fresh vegetables and a spicy soft center boiled egg. Delish! My partner enjoyed the buffalo chicken sandwich and a craft beer. All good. I will also mention they offer a challenge of a 30 ounce cheese burger, fries, and 30 ounces of beer for $59.00. The caveat is if one can finish the entire meal off in 30 minutes the meal is free. We watched a young man attempt to accomplish this feat but after 30 minutes he gave up. It was fun just to watch someone try! Great service. Full bar. Craft beer. Thank you for joining us! Our Ramen is certainly a hit and is even better in the winter after a cold day on the slopes. Next time you come back, we will see if your up for our challenge!
