Applebee's

Having discovered that they have a great selection and not overly huge portions, I am becoming a major fan of Applebee's. I ate at one in Grand Haven, Michigan. It held the same standards as the ones near us. The store in Chula Vista is rather new. I like the layout much better than the older style. The bar area is to one section aside so the noise doesn't drown out the talking. The Wait staff has always been excellent, the food has been to our expectations. Sometimes even better than hoped. As I hop around the US, I can say I have eaten at Applebee's in Petaluma, CA area, Vallejo, Ca area, San Diego, CA, National City, CA. and our Chula Vista's own.We have never had to have things redone, except for them to remove the cheese for milk intolerant friends. Husband took me here, for our Anniversary of 55 years and he was also impressed with the quality and size of the meals. We hope to try that Blonde Brownie some time with only a salad. We had the 7 Oz steak and were both very satisifed.

We go here almost every week - it's good value for money & most of the servers are consistently good despite what seems like high turnover (just my observation).Particularly like the chicken quesadillas. Also if you combine the order into one if the 'meal for 2' it's even better value for money....try their top shelf Margaritas worth the extra....

Tacos Tarros

The food (adobada tacos) were very good. While they are not on the same level as San Diego/Tijuana legends Tacos Frances or Tacos El Gordo, they were delicious. What was lacking was service as it was bizarre to see one person staffing the bar and restaurant on a Sunday afternoon. The ambiance is that of a typical sports bar; however, the menu was appealing. Hopefully the staffing is worked out as multiple parties were trying to chase down the one employee handling all areas.

A good variety of burgers, my personal favorite is the Hawaiian. They're definitely good quality. The restaurant decor is attractive and fun. The service has been friendly and efficient each of our many visits. I don't think the fries are great, but they're not bad by any stretch.

Very busy place. Food is good and reasonably priced. To avoid waiting for a table, eat in the bar. The place gets crowded around 4 pm. The Margaritas are very good as is the triple berry cake. I also like the titos punch. Not much of a draft beer selection.

They have a wide variety of appetizer plates that are tasty and shareable. Servers are always happy to make substitutions. No corking fee for first bottle of wine, so we always bring our favorite. The Pizookie desserts are delicious, the kids' favorite. The Chicken Pasta Alfredo is one of our favorites. We go there at least twice a month.

Buffalo Wild Wings

We came here during lunch time on a Tuesday. There weren't too many people there either and that was a plus. Prices were decent like the average BDubs, but the service was exemplary. We ate outside since it was lovely weather and we were the only ones out there. The waitress was very attentive. It is unfortunate I cannot recollect her name but all of the staff were very friendly. I applaud them and recommend this place because of it.

I went to this restaurant tonight because my friends recommend is as a good steakhouse. It is my birthday (though we did not inform the restaurant) and I really wanted a good beef dinner before returning to my home in the Philippines where good beef is hard to come by.I ordered the 12oz prime rib and was simply disappointed. It did come exactly medium rare, and the taste was fine, but I am used to really good prime rib from my four decades of living in Colorado and Wyoming. This prime rib was tough. I really expected better. So service was good, the sides adequate but not exceptional. The menu's steak listings minimal with more seafood options that steaks. No T-bone, no porterhouse... just not what I expect from a real steak house. We appreciate you visiting to celebrate your birthday, but our team is saddened to read of your disappointment in your meal. Comments from our guests are truly valued, so we appreciate you sharing yours, and if you're ever in the area again, we hope you'll consider giving us another chance to better meet your expectations. Respectfully, Jacquie W., Guest Relations Manager
