Top 8 Wineries & Vineyards in Cornwall, England

May 10, 2022 Venice Greaves

Cornwall is the extreme southwestern peninsula of England. It has the longest stretch of continuous coastline in Britain and it is one of the sunniest areas in the UK. With picturesque villages, Celtic ruins, light blue waters, gardens and parks and unique architecture it certainly is among the most scenic areas of England. Home of many events and festivals and the land of Cornish pasty, it is definitely worth visiting.

A really informative tour; Charles is very knowledgeable and and obviously enjoys sharing his love of wine making. This is a small vineyard so every part of the process is hands on and all 15 of us were able to take part in that as well as learning to 'taste' the wines. A lovely setting; the 2+ hours passed very pleasantly.

My husband and I visited Camel Valley vineyard during our week long tour around Cornwall. The trip was planned around a visit to the vineyard after seeing it reviewed on a TV programme last year, when 5 Celebrities went caravanning. This spurred me into buying a bottle of Camel Valley Rose sparking wine. Well I don't need much encouragement, and certainly wasn't disappointed. This amazing vineyard produces the most amazing English wines, and most certainly rivals any of the best Champagne from France. I'm now converted and will only purchase from Camel Valley. The tour around the winery was very informative and opened our eyes to the work that goes into producing the wines. I've always loved Champagne, however the Camel Valley sparking wine certainly deserves all the awards it has gained and in my view is better than Ruinart champagne. Let's fly the flag for English wine!

Had a fabulous afternoon at Polgoon. Very welcoming and fun host, very knowledgeable about the wine making process and we just loved that it’s a family run business. Wine was amazing, and the fact that it’s all locally grown / sourced made it even more enjoyable. The tasting was informative and plenty of wine to taste. We had our dog with us who was also made very welcome. A brilliant place to visit if you’re in Cornwall.

We attended a friends wedding yesterday at Knightor. The day was truly amazing. The venue, grounds, parking, weather, staff and most importantly food was faultless. Just wished we lived closer to come to the themed nights! The staff were very attentive and helpful, and we all felt very safe covid wise. Great job everyone!!!!

Booked in for the Grand Walking Tour, one of the most interesting tours and tastings that we have been on. Liz was super engaging, telling us the history of how her and Engin arrived in Cornwall and built Trevibban into what is it today as we wandered round the vineyard. We then went inside to sample the wines with sharing platters of bread and hummus, meats and cheeses. Great value for money, we just didn't want to leave. Liz very kindly reserved a table on the terrace where we enjoyed another bottle of wine in the sunshine. We have previously just visited for a drink which I would also recommend, there are plenty of tables both inside and outside. If you don't have a designated driver, book a taxi, it's a great place for a relaxing drink.

We enjoyed 2 glasses of wine and a platter. Staff were friendly and helpful and it was a lovely setting (glass building with outlook onto the vineyard and a wild flower field) Our platter was delicious and our wines were fab! Several options for various tasting packages and tours, all at a reasonable price!
