During in our travels we have visited a few of these types of villiages. We found this one very interesting. Very budget friendly (under $10), and you explore at your own pace. I was expecting to spend approximately 30min. I was so wrong, there is just so much to see and loads of information about the pioneers of the area. We spent about 1 - 1.1/2 hours there and still didnt get to read all the articles I would have liked to have. There is also a tea room which provides tea, coffee and some basic sandwiches and cakes. Unfortunately this was not open while we were there. It would be a great way to end the visit.

Great place to stop and have a few photos with this local icon. If you are cleaver with your camera you can get some great funny shots. Take a stroll round the park, where there are bbq and tables. The Tourist Information Center is next door so you can pop in for local info or plan your next stop. If staying in the Shire Caravan Park it's only about a 5 min walk.

Went to the Palace Hotel on Sunday afternoon. What a pleasant surprise. Beer garden was lovely food was fantastic. I even found my favorite wine to go with my chicken parmigiana. Being happy hour beer was only half price. Well done. We will be returning, because it is definitely worth it ???????? Now it wish I took a picture.
