Having been taught by Andy was a real good and interesting experience. We became friends over time online and through mutual friends and when I was looking for my side mount certification in August 2012 my choice was simple and easy and I've never looked back, so to say!
The knowledge of Andy and the Delivery are phenomenal, he takes you through all course steps calmly and it all becomes easy. He's patient and he knows all the wrecks in Subic Bay inside out.
Andy went the extra mile, for real. Being a highly educated recreational dive professional myself, I found it refreshing to sit in the 'school banks' again with such an outstanding instructor!
I'm looking forward to more diving and courses with Andy!

Mt Cinco Picos

Reviewed By akaong - Las Pinas, Philippines

Definitely not a walkabout. The climb itself wasn't that technical but the unpredictable weather in November may be a hurdle. Tall grasses offer no refuge from the elements. Early morning River crossing is a killer to your shoes, toenails, and feet. This surprisingly average climb turned out to be a worthy challenge

Holy Land

Reviewed By Beth G - Metro Manila, Philippines

My group of 6 women just came from a 4 day spiritual retreat and thought of checking the place out. We saw the chapel that was newly constructed. It was simple, yet serene. If one's objective in coming to this place is to be entertained, one will definitely be disappointed. I guess this place are for those who intend to pray, reflect, do a pilgrimage. According to our guide, the place has many visitors especially during the season of Lent. We were impressed with the works.. Life-size statues of the characters in the Bible were made of paper mache. There's nothing like it here in Metro Manila or nearby. Entrance is free. If you're visiting during the day, don't forget to bring sunblock, umbrella and hat.

Inang Laya Monument

Reviewed By New_YLOO - Philippines

The Inang laya monument is on the boardwalk - I liked the white statue of the motherland.
Next to it is something more interesting - hand prints of the senators who voted for the cessation of the US naval base at Subic bay. It gets you curious and you end up learning far more about the history of this place .. on the net - sadly there is very little more information here, and the SBMA museum is rather pathetic.
We were lucky - we had an old SBMA veteran who showed us around, telling us what each building was during the US navy time, and explained the whole story of the cessation of the base... starting with worker strikes in Clark, the greed of Philippine government in doubling rentals charged to US government for use of the base, the Pinatubo eruption, vacating the base and then returning... and finally the senate vote and cessation of the base.
There were a few school children sitting here, non challantly joking and singing songs, which made for an interesting contrast to the backdrop of this place's history.
