Wolf People

Reviewed By Brenda H - Columbus, Ohio, United States

This is certainly an opportunity to see wolves of different breeds and colors, and to learn a bit. The price is not terrible, especially since it supports the 20 plus animals living there. The vendor sells a large number of wolf related items also. These are domesticated to a point in that they come from breeders in other places and states and reside as a pack in general and are often kept together in mating pairs. If you don't want to see wild things in pens, I'd suggest you skip it. They are beautiful and do sing and their handler gives a pretty good talk, but if you've seen the wild in the LaMarre Valley or elsewhere in Yellowstone or Revelstoke, you should probably skip this one.

Pend Oreille County Museum

Reviewed By Karen C - Escalon, California, United States

We happened to be in the area & looking for something to do. We found this very nice museum. It included several buildings that had been taken apart & reassembled on the museum grounds. They included a schoolhouse, ice house, hunter's cabin & home, to name a few. They were all furnished with relics of the olden days. They had a huge area of vintage tractors & farm equipment. We spent 2 hours there. Great place to take children to learn about "the old days". Inside the museum were several collections including a pencil collection. They had old cash registers & an old change maker from the local theater. Everywhere you looked, you found something new! They even had a collection from the local dentist's office. The gift shop was well stocked with everything from postcards to hand made gifts including eyeglass cases, pillow cases, napkins, table runners & much more that were patchwork style sewing. Great find for a little town! And a great place to find that special gift you're looking for! Free admission, donations accepted.

We loved our experience renting a ski boat from Sandpoint Watersports. I found them online when I googled boat rentals and they were the first that came up. I called and had an immediate reservation. The rental was nice, clean and fast. They were so helpful. I had a son who broke his ankle 8 weeks ago, they helped him in the boat and out. They were there to greet us when we arrived, gassed up for us, with no surcharge. No boaters insurance to purchase, it's included in the price of the rental. No huge $500 deposit per rental. Rates extremely reasonable. I just loved the whole experience. Easy to find, easy walk to the marina from parking lot. Definitely would recommend to my friends and would rent here again on a future trip.

If you are interested in pelagic birds, take a trip with Westport Seabirds. The members of the crew are all very knowledgeable and very patient in explaining the sometimes subtle differences between species. They do everything possible to ensure that everyone sees everything. They also point out mammals and fish that are encountered. My wife and I loved our trip.
