Plaza Nueva

Reviewed By Nigel S - Guildford, United Kingdom

We visited the Plaza late afternoon / early evening and wandered the streets and visited the little shops and then came across this beautiful location. It is vibrant and trendy and has several eateries and has a stage where regular Concerts are put on. The views are spectacular from here across the surrounding countryside.

Fuente Publica de Mojacar

Reviewed By 176av - Ilkley, United Kingdom

We visited the beautiful Mojacat village and had planned our walk back down the hill taking in the sights on the way.
At one point we werent sure which route to take for the bus stop and fortunately we chose the right one because almost at the bottom on the right was this little plaza with taps around the wall where you could drink if you wished. The water is lovely.
There are a few nice cafes at the bottom of the hill.

Such a peaceful place with such simplicity which is unusual in RC churches it looks as if it had a fresh coat of paint yesterday! Stick a couple of euros in the box and watch the row of candles light up!!!!!!

Torre del Pirulico

Reviewed By Sandra L - Warwick, Australia

Sunday afternoon after a wonderful lunch at Restaurante Mediterraneo and decided to visit although had been there years before. Drove there and track a bit iffy in places. Single file and blind corners with drop off to sea. Parking at Tower and signage in the Spanglish we all know & love. Climb to base of tower and then external iron staircase to tower itself. Excellent views.
Sympathetically restored for what it is / was and where it is.
Would be a nice stroll on better day.

Museo "Casa de la Canana"

The house got its name from one of its dwellers, a person well known by all of the town, whose occupation, among other things, was selling tobacco and various goods of everyday needs. Visitors of this old house of Mojácar get a chance of making a connection with the epoch of the first half of XX century and learn about history and culture of this remarkable town. 200 square metres of exposition, the house is more than 100 years old decorated with real things of the first half of the 20-th century. We saw the reviews of this museum and were keen to visit. We were the only people there at the time and the owner showed us round personally and answered all our questions.
The house has been faithfully restored to the way it would have been in the early 20th century. The owner talks you through each room and what it was used for and has spoken to lots of locals whose relatives knew the family who lived in the house so that he has stories of the people who lived there and what their life was like.
There is also lots of additional information and photos on the wall.
We were absolutely amazed to find that in this small house crammed onto the side of the steep hill there was an outside space. What's more it was used for keeping animals.
I can't recommend this little house highly enough if you visit the lovely village of Mojacar and want to know a bit more about what life was like before it became a tourist attraction. We spent about 45 minutes there and the cost was a very reasonable 2 Euros 50.

Playa del Lance

The beach here at the Playa area of Mojacar stretches for quite some distance with a glorious Promenade behind the beach. The beach sand is very fine shingle rather than the soft golden sand of other areas, it can also be a bit windy here as well.
There are several cafe bars and restaurants close by should you require food or drink.

Mojacar Street Market

Reviewed By Christine S - Kilmarnock, United Kingdom

Markets sit a street behind the port, up a steep hill, was dissapointed as was expecting more local goods, instead of usual clothes stalls, fake bags and purses not of great quality, one guys was super glueing fake badges on clearly visible for all to see. The fruit section wax good, and got some amazing cherries. No local jewellery or craft items, would not bother to go back.
