We have tried many Beaches in the area: Ramatuelle ones, l'Escalet and others. So far, this is the best one for small children, views are also stunning. A Spar supermarket is available at the end of the beach, public showers below the Popeye cabana, no wind (bay, beach protected by the surroundings), zero flies/mosquitos. A lot of people starting to come for dinner/picnic in the beach when we left. Highly recommended for a visit.

There are several ways of walking to Cap Lardier from either La Plage de Gigaro or L'Escalet. What they all have in common are some steep paths. Because of this, the number of visitors is (luckily) not too bad. But the views on the way out and back are spectacular so don't forget your camera. Also, take plenty of water if the weather is hot.

This is a really nice bay close to Saint-Tropez but without the same traffic and crowds. There are good car parks on the beach road and there is a 10 minute walk down a footpath and down some quite steep steps. The walk though is worth it as you come to a reasonable sized bay with a nice beach which is sheltered. There are rocky outcrops at either side which are good for snorkelling and a nice sandy beach in the middle with a monitored swimming area. In September there were a reasonable number of people on the beach and plenty room in the car parks.

Yet another beautiful beach in the area. This one has a bit of a historical twist. On August 16th, 1944, soldiers from the US and England stormed that beach to fight the German invaders. Hard to imagine when everything is now so peaceful and filled with the laughter of children.

Lors d'un repas dans restaurant de Cavalaire, nous avons pu goûter un rosé de la Madrague et nous avons été conquis. Nous nous sommes rendus directement à l'exploitation pour y acheter 12 bouteilles. L'accueil a été très sympathique et professionnel. Il y a aussi encore d'autres vins blancs ou rouges bien travaillés qui peuvent accompagner des plats plus complexes...
