We were late in the year to truly appreciate the Gardens. The trophy rooms off to the north of the Gardens has one of the most intense collections of game trophies mixed with mementos of a different era. I was more fascinated with the architecture of this building than that of the castle. We debated spending the time sitting in the damp to watch the falcons fly but we were very glad we did. The falconer gives a great talk on birds of prey and the antics of his feathered menagerie is impressive. if they fly, don't miss it.

A lovely way to pass a couple of hours. We ended up walking a bit further. Absolutely amazing colours in the greenery. Small car parking- free, but not too many people around. Very relaxing

Certainly worth a look if you're passing; nicely preserved, with even a couple of roofed bits still intact. I would have awarded five stars, but hurt my head on one of its low ceilings, like the punchline of a slapstick joke started aeons ago.

Might be overshadowed by Royal Dornoch, but certainly worthy of a visit. Good variety of holes. Excellent greens and very well maintained.

This is well worth a visit.....amazing fossils, stones, marble and minerals etc. Very informative and interesting. Lots of amazing things to see and experience and it's free!!! There is a small Fluorescent Room where you can view the minerals shining in the dark!!!
Great shop which sells well priced precious stones, ornaments, jewellery, clocks etc so you can take a little piece of nature's finest home.

Take the road from Golspie signposted for Littleferry. There is a roadside car park for half a dozen cars. The gate is opposite.
Flat paths lead to the loch side. Interest at this time of year is Fungi, which there is a good variety of. In the summer look out for Dragonflies. The trees are interesting at anytime of the year.
This is a walk that is suitable for all ages and all abilities.

Original and different craft and art gallery with working studios. Weaving and jewellery designed and made in-house. Wide selection of other crafts, including Scottish wood furniture and local art. Workshops throughout the year. Informal and well worth a visit.

Climbed first thing in the morning on a Monday in December. Ice had formed on all the vegetation, and was very foggy. Once we got above the clouds it was beautiful. Clear and sun was shining. The "Wee Manny" is a great end to an incredible hike. Came across 6 beautiful deer in the fog. Takes 1.5 hours on the way up, 1 hour on the way back, taking the long way round the back.
