Piges Agias Varvaras

This is a fascinating place to take refuge and cool off on a hot summer day in Drama: the Santa Barbara Park has small lakes, Waterfalls, and Fountains created from the turquoise Springs. The trees provide a lot of shade which coupled with the water makes the air cool and fresh.
The Park has long trails and paths and a few small wooden Bridges. The water is chrystal clear and home to ducks, swans and fish.
All around there are restaurants, bars and coffee shops. Of particular interest and beauty at one end is the Hydrama Hotel, the first 5 star-hotel in Drama housed in a renovated old tobacco warehouse. In the small pavillon next to it during our visit, the short film festival was taking place.
Definitely a must do in Drama.

1. A fantastic part of the Drama prefecture
2. Spectacular landscapes along the route.
Negative: Very tiring drive which at times seems like it will take ages to reach the destination. Due to this I'd honestly say that I personally would not do this trip again.

Posidonio Water Park

Very nice cooling off, great for kids, not too big so you always have a good idea where the kids are. 5 euro entrance, children under 5 for free, free use of all facilities after that (incl. sunbeds and umbrellas.) Large slides open 12:00 o'clock, park at 10:00 o'clock, closes at 20:00.
Contains 1x pirate island pool for the little ones, 1x 25 m pool, 1x childrenspool with depth around 0.75, 1 half-higher slide for younger kids, 3 higher slides: 1 blind tunnel, floating ring is obligated for using for this one..1 steep down, 1 half steep down. Some fast food available in the snack corner and a coffeebar. At every pool there are lifeguards as well as at all higher slides. Great escape when you are in the Kavala or Drama area and you want something different than the beach. About a 40 minutes drive from Kavala, Drama is 17 km away. Had a great time, kids just loved it, making mama relax too!!
