Ambala (/əmˈbɑːlə/), is a city and a municipal corporation in Ambala district in the state of Haryana, India, located on the border with the Indian state of Punjab and in proximity to both states capital Chandigarh. Politically; Ambala has two sub-areas: Ambala Cantonment also known as (Ambala Cantt) and Ambala City, less than one kilometer apart, therefore it is also known as "Twin City". It has a large Indian Army and Indian Air Force presence within its cantonment area. Ambala separates the Ganges river network from the Indus river network and is surrounded by two rivers – Ghaggar and Tangri – to the north and to the south. Due to its geographical location, the Ambala district plays an important role in local tourism, being located 47 km (28 miles) south of Chandigarh, the state capital, 148 km (93 miles) southwest of Shimla, 198 km (121 miles) north of New Delhi and 260 km (155 miles) southeast of Amritsar.Gurudwara Manji Sahib is situated in Ambala.

If you have taste for Sikh religion and want to know more about them then it would be one of the perfect place to visit. The doors of this gurdwara are always open but you would find it more crowded on Sundays of festival days. There are langars offered to the visitors at no cost.

I recently availed services from Tirupati Travels. The car on rent was from Chandigarh to Shimla, Kullu-Manali and back to Chandigarh.
Mr. Daljeet Singh was very courteous and helpful in finalising the itinerary. The car provided was clean and well maintained. The driver was very knowledgeable and almost felt like family through the vacation. Extremely safe driving, well behaved and friendly with kids.
I'd recommend Mr.Daljeet as a very safe and right option for travellers who are new to this part of the country.
We felt very safe and in good hands.

The district headquarter is situated in Ambala City. It is famous for its army cantonment, air force base and railway junction. Ambala district is now famous for its industries especially that of scientific instruments, metal casting and kitchen mixer grinders.

Located at a distance from Ambala is this famous and very popular Gurudwara of Sikh Religion. Locals have very strong beliefs attached to this holy place. Park with lake and boating inside. Popular among locals for children play and other activities. Neat and well maintained. Small restaurant is available. Nothing special best for family picnic or morning walk.
