Top 8 Things to do Good for Big Groups in Fargo, North Dakota (ND)

October 13, 2021 Misti Hsu

For a weekend of fun and relaxation, you don't have far to go. North Dakota's largest city gained a certain measure of modern fame with its 1996 movie namesake. But Fargo is more than a city of friendly folks and flat accents. Local museums will please art lovers, children and baseball enthusiasts. After a family visit to the Red River Zoo, parents can unwind at local area lounges, many of which offer casino gaming. In Fargo's sister city of Moorhead, Minnesota, The Heritage Hjemkomst Interpretive Center has replicas of a Viking ship and a Norwegian Stave church. Back in Fargo, Bonanzaville USA gives modern visitors a taste of pioneer life.

Fargo Theatre

Not only is this the most photographed icon in the state of North Dakota, it is a gem of history in the state's largest city of Fargo. Two screens/stages means there is always something to exciting to experience. Highly recommend silent movie night when the classic cars come out and an artist sits at the Mighty Wurlitzer to soundtrack the films. Also - kids movie days are the bomb. The theatre fills with kids, it's super affordable to for a ticket, popcorn and a drink, and no one expects you to sit down and be quiet. Be prepared for children dancing int the isles. Fargo Film Festival in March is incredible! We are so lucky to have the Fargo Theatre in our town. It's less than a block from Roberts Garage, which is free on nights and weekends.

What a fun way to end my journey to all 50 states! I have no idea how they know that this would be my last, but at 11 am, I was already the 4th person that day to complete this milestone. What a hoot! I got the tee-shirt and took many pictures of my friend with the infamous woodchipper from the movie. Pippa was very friendly and helpful. I suggest anyone passing through Fargo stop by the visitor's center for local hospitality as well as good recommendations for other local sites.

Drekker Brewing Company

Drekker Brewing is a brewery and taproom located in one of Fargo's oldest buildings - a restored railroad shop built in 1883, before North Dakota was a part of the United States. Drekker Brewing Company specializes in unique and adventurous small batch beers but has something on tap for everyone.

Great place for a beer and socializing a little away from the crowd downtown. Went for a work get together and reserved the upper platform for our group. It provided an excellent view of the whole building and the service was timely and friendly. The interior looks fantastic with refinished beams, beautiful windows and a cool poured concrete bar top. They have a good selection of beers as well as sours and I'm told there is usually a food truck outside (there was one when we were there, but we had pizza delivered by Rhombus Guys instead). Definitely worth a stop - for both the beer and the great atmosphere! If this review and pictures were helpful, please click on 'Like' to improve my profile.

Great in game experience and impressive tailgating area west of the stadium. The opening game experience was really good with the light show and music. The stadium is around 17000 seats so close to the field. We liked the section 10 end zone view and it’s close to the band which is fun.
